Look up www.swgcraft.com. Find out what was the best comp resources to spawn on your server and ask for them on your trade forum. That's the quick way to get the best reources.
Are you layering your armor? If you are, what type of layers and where are you putting your exp points.
Is if possible for you to list the resources you are using? The stats and everything else.

well im trying to use kin
Yesterday I decided to try someting new and went with a Kinetic Layer that was 3 base 9 Kin...with 18 hams
Previous to that i had been using 2/13 base/kin
or using 2/9-787 ham

If your trying to reach that magic 90% sliced base comp, theres really no reason to use kinetic layers. By using them you are actually limiting kin protection to 80% because its in specials and therefore unsliceble. Stun layers and maybe one electric layer (to get the electric special capped at 80%) are prolly your best bet.
When I am about to do a run with new resources, I make a few pair of unlayered gloves. Doing this you can determine the exact ammount of kinetic needed to cap the special protection. This way you can squeeze as much as possible out of the base protection.
I havent done kinetic comp in a while. If I remember, to cap kinetic and get the most base possible, the kinetic layers should be like 4%kin/4%base. Obviously you have to fool a bit with your resources to get it right.
I am also assuming, on segs and final build, you are experimenting middle row and putting leftovers into top row (lol I can never remember the row names)
It also seems you are just trying things,as opposed to doing the math.
Hope that helps a bit!

I think I really need help on making Layers....and Segments
I have all 800-900+ stats on all of my materials...except for 1 that is like 750-500 or so...and thats just crism sciliclastic etc..
How do I put together the layers to produce the 71% base, or 69 etc etc...That is able to goto 90%??
And how do I produce the Segments that are capable...anyone able to post theyre stuff so that we can Compare? or something?
Thanks again

If you are triple layering your armor the magic number is 84%. 3x84% layers gives you +13 to the base. The current trend is to use a damage type that isn't too common like cold or blast. Stun works as well, though that ore can hinder you.
The real trick to making layers is to max out the exp line, with 7 or 8 points, then experiment. That crafting practice maco comes in handy at this point. You keep doing that until you get an amazing success. Hopefully at this point you are at 84% or higher. You take some port and put the rest of your points into the HAM costs. Then you hope for another amazing success. If you just get a great go ahead and use that crafting practice macro. You want straight amazings for your layers. This can take a good 30-45m at times. Other times you get it on the second or third try. I was making some brandy a few days ago and got all 12 amazings on the first try. Last night I had to give up after going through a crate and a half of additives and try again in the morning. It is the luck of the draw, but if you want the best possible, then 12 points of amazings is want you need to do.
I wouldn't say all points need to be amazing for the segment. However getting 7 is nice as that is the same as 8 points of great success.

You should definately list the resources you are using for your layers and segs. Heres why, kinetic layer need metal, gemtone and polymer I think. You say all your resources are 800-900+ stats (I know your just estimating but thats fine, so am I). So lets say your metal is in the 800's. A kinetic layer is more than 2/3 metal, sofor instance only having average metalcan really bring down the stats.
Also when you say 800-900 resources, do you mean the average of the OQ/SR? Or, are you only taking into consideration the OQ? If its the latter you have a bit more learning to do. Now don't take that the wrong way. I'm not trying to flame, just trying to better understand.
On a side note. If you are a new master armorsmith, like within the last three months, don't worry about being able to make the same armor as the older masters right off the bat. Armorsmith is probably the most complex and demanding of all the crafting professions. Take the time to fool around and experiment. Read everything and ask questions while doing that.
Asking how to make 90% sliced comp is fine. We as armorsmiths can give you many answers, most of which will be similar. Unless you understand the information/tips given, then the information is wasted.

so basically to achieve the slicable 90% composite..I need about 67+?
and I need to use Stun Layers experimented to what stun, what base?

If you have good stuff for stun and can hit that 84% base, then you can do those. That gives a total of +13 to your base. If not, go through the different layers and pick one that you have materials for that will make a good layer.
What you do with the remaining points is up to you. You can up the stun or lower the HAM. If the point of the suit is PvE, then go for the lower HAM.
The max slice for base is 35%. So 67% is the minimum. Ideally you would want a base that will hit 90% in the 25-28% range on the slice. That puts you at 70-72% base range. You may need to use janta hides to hit that. 3% are easy enough to find.

X-Stun
67
67
67
67
67
67
etc
Im just making the Layer... right now

to have high base stun kinetic or what ever
MAX THE MIDDLE ROW ON LAYERS, SEGS, AND FINAL COMBINE
that is it
saw the post up there using 2/13 kin layers, you want high base then max that middle row

you mean max out the middle row first..then max the bottom row..? right
