Thread: musician buffs
That's a good question, hope somebody answers.
I talked to a few dancers, and they seem to go with just asking for a tip. The one dancer said she did it that way because if she, say, asked for 4k, then she would miss out on the guys who tip 10k 20k or 40k or whatever crazy tips those twi'lek dancers can pull in. Being a slimey male rodian, I wasn't too sure if this was the route I should take. Anyway, it seemed I was getting an average of 4k per buff, so I started asking for that, but for some people that got a response like it was very expensive. So then I ask for tips, and I get the idiots giving me 2 credits (slimey rodian male). I'd like a good answer too.

At tech 4 you'll be able to give 75% buffs. I believe this is an additional 75% to whatever the persons max focus and willpower are set at. For my Zab toon, who has his focus/willpower maxed at 500/900 respectively, my buffs would be an additional 375/675 and they last about 2 hours.
As far as buffing time goes, I've heard anywhere from 4 minutes to 10 minutes for full effect. I haven't personally tested or timed this myself. I generally set an alarm for 10 minutes and chat with friends.
The strength of the buff is determined by your Musical Mind Enhancement skill mod. That number is the percentage by which you buff your target's secondaries. At Technique 4 (without any enhancement clothing) this is 75% (100% at Master).
The duration of your buffis determined by how much you flourish, and which song/instrument you're playing. I usually do Jazz on the bandfill, pile on the flourishes, and can do the full 2 hour buff in 3 minutes (I let it run for 4 minutes to be safe)
You may want to avoid using the nalargon or ommni box so that you don't accidentally target something else and stop playing in the middle of your buffing.
Use the instrument you enjoy playing the most! Or better yet, ask the customer if they have requests. I don't often have customers who know enough about the instruments/songs to request something specific, but when I am able to oblige someone's request, they get really happy (and often tippy)

I don't believe so, and I've never noticed any differences.
