yeah the idea about armorsmith ONLY repaint kits is a good idea.
I dont think vendor buffs will work, who would want to travel across the galaxy to play for a terminal vendor?
More color and display armor is a good notch too, but then again even the display armor can be profited on if made atm, so maybe we should just do that.
BUT make us some display armor that doesnt protect, but which doesnt require any skills eiter... or would that fek it up totall??
Maybe inspiration buff that enables us to craft stuff faster, like taking down the craft time of the schems we make and the hand crafting we do.

1) Fix existing bugs
2) Make AS experimentation more interesting, like it used to be
3) Some kind of Armor Coloring Kit would be cool.

1) fix the bug list first and foremost
2) coloring kits are nice

In my humble opinion...crafting buff now is wrothless, u can still get critical failures even if ur a 12pt 25 assembly smith. We need a buff that will grant a hi chance of amazing successes(now this is what Im talking about). What about a condition buff? Color buff...hnnn...no. They should alllow us to make paint kits, would simplify armor crafting as a whole.

I know that fixing the bugs is our biggest concern here guys and I agree with that. I don't really care about inspiration buffs untill they get fixed. With that being said, they are borking another profession (entertainer) by removing battle fatigue without really giving them something to replace it with yet. Hopefully, we can get some good ideas for them so they don't have to deal with the downtime we had to. Misery likes company, but lets try to help them!
In that light, I think the best things we can get inspiration buffs on would be one that either reduces resource requirements, or reduces schematic complexity (speed up our factories)!
I like color kits too, but it's not something that I think would work good as an inspiration buff (but would make for a great grind item to replace armor upgrade kits!:smileywink

Although this is nice, it is disheartening. They are looking to add more code to our profession, when the existing is completely fubared and has been since we all got CU'd. We all had to start over from near scratch with resources, new schematics, and as a bonus have had a ton of horrible bugs added to the profession.
Please, please tell them, thank you but no thank you. The community would like you to spend your time fixing what has already been rolled out. We do not want more added to this profession until what has been done actually works. Once health bonuses, appearance packages, crated armor, vendors, and everything else is fixed; and we are at a hundred percent functionality of the way it was intended, do we want new ideas thrown in. Once it is all fixed I will be happy to contribute to new ideas for this profession, but until then, all I can envision with new items, or adds to this profession is more bugs added on top of old ones. Or is this a bad sign that since they arent fixing the real problems they will throw us a bone to try and distract us from the real issues. SOE has a history with swg since launch of rolling out new things, items, content, while ignoring serious pre-existing problems. Ths is a huge cause of frustration to the players. SO please please please, fix whats broken first, then lets talk about new ideas. I would love to be able to talk about some new ideas, but would hate those new ideas to be the cause of the problems that already exist to be ignored even further.

While I agree I want all the bugs fixed first, you can't stop all design work on other professions to come to a halt until certain bugs are fixed. Just because we suggest different inspiration buffs doesn't mean they'll implement them before other new content (doesn't mean they won't I know), but they have to start planning somewhere. So, let's try to help another profession out and give them some ideas that would make their buffs useful and desirable.

I do see your point. This is more about giving another profession a useful purpose rather than a specific AS issue. So what I think would be useful purpose for the inspiration buff to an armorsmith would be one of two ways.
1) while buffed by an entertainer our health enhancements and appearance packages would work. Our crated armor would come out the color we crafted it as, and our vendors would work properly
or
2) while buffed by an entertainer, the stockpiles of colat iron, kirium steel , and beyrillius copper could be substituted for any other metal in any of our schematics.
Those would be pretty useful.
Progressing on a foundation that is broken is not the best move. I do see your point, but it is the cycle that SOE has repeated for 2 years, which has lead to a prepetually bugged game.

true, but I'd look at it this way. Inspiration buffs are going to happen regardless of whether we give input or not. We might as well give input to hopefully get something we find useful.

You are probably right they will happen regardless of what we say. That also seems to be a trend with SOE.
In fact i wouldnt be surprised if it is already coded and qued up to go to live before any testing or player feedback. So, Ill just stick with my above suggestions. but in addition ill throw out a few less worthy suggestions as well. decrease complexity for shorter factory runs, additional point of experimentation, bonus to assembly, increase final combine experimentation by 10%(higher condition), surveying bonus that will allow double the range, for all of us out there who harvest our own,-percentage of resources needed, html crafted logo that can be placed on armor, makes named organics into general unnmaed organics, allows us a protection bonus for harvestor factory runs(a little love for the non combatant), but preferably the first 2 suggestions from my other response.

Can we get inspired to make a limited (say 10 use schematic) for faction armor?
