I find that I lose a lot less health without armor as well. I didn't do any official tests, but the difference was so huge that you couldn't not notice. With armor I was finishing fights with whites with only half my HAM bars full. Without I hardly noticed them go down before the fight was over.

this post is priceless.
make sure your armor protects ya from melee as well as ranged attack.at the very least match armor vs a mob attack stile(ranged/melee).

I'm an unarmed brawler. Up until now, I've been wearing armor when I fight. I wanted to see how well my armor was doing for me vs ham costs, so I ran a few tests.
I always did better without wearing any armor at all. This may be because the stat costs for wearing armor lower your natural regen rate, or it may be that the armor is reporting damage was absorbed in combat spam but not really being removed.
Here's what I did. I'd love it if you guys could replicate this test and post your results.
Take a creature destroy mission from a regular terminal. Doesn't matter what it is, the idea is to get a group of very similar mobs.
Put on your armor and fight the creatures one at a time (burst run away if you get multiples). Do this for 4 or 5 fights.
Remove all armor. Do 4 or 5 more single fights.
Get to full HAM between each fight and record your final numbers afterwards. Do not use specials during the fight.
I had at LEAST 20% more health after each *unarmored* fight.
What are you guys seeing?

The armor in question protects against melee, and I'm watching the damage absorption messages in combat spam.
But thanks for jumping to the conclusion that this issue is just wearing the wrong type of armor.
Perhaps if you paid more attention to the actual performance of your gear, rather than just what you assume is happening, you'd have noticed this yourself.

I don't know...that's pretty risky if they come at you with an acid based weapon!

because jedi powers do electric damage
I thought all powers bypassed armor?
Interesting build anyway, strictly jedi fare, with the prevalance of Nyms slugthrower in pvp you don't want to use that armor fighting non jedi
I got a customer request for a ris suit with energy plus a boost to heat and electricity for those elemental crystals jedi are fond of using. Customer went away happy. That was the only elemental layering order I have had so far.

why would the elec be high if you huntin jedi? if anything HEAT and energy should be high, since both the fancy crytals do heat damage if I remember correctly
I thought Sunrider's did heat damage and the Bane's an electricity damage. I might be wrong though.
no, you aren't wrong, those are the correct elemental damages

oh and for the record, force powers do "force" elemental damage, bypassing armour entirely
and no, just fully energy layer it man
