I wanted to be an artisan, I made the mistake of starting as one instead of a tougher class.

now when I fight, I can dish out lots of damage, but just can not take it very well at all..

I can kill a womp rat flat out before he even sees me, but if one were to get to me and fight, it would

be nothing for him to drain my life.

I tried migrating a lot of my points into consitution, but it didnt really help much.

I can however take laser blasts without much damage.

so on to my question, is there an armor type that aids against melee attacks from creatures?

if so what type should I be using?

Mibari works against kinetic damage ie. creatures.

Stats you should worry about are Health, Action, and Mind. These are the pools that take the temporary damage. The others are secondary stats that deal with regenerating the main stat and modifying how much special moves cost.

hmm, I tried one piece of Mabari but it seemed like it did nothing, will have to give it another shot.

I got about 900hp in health, and my friend with 800 lasts twice as long as me in taking hits.

I have some krayt that I want to have an armorsmith make into armor for me. Is there a site somewhere that tells me how many what serial number issues etc.. for each piece?

Thanks in advance!

First off is it scales or segments? Scales are made into composite segments and add their bonus to the stats while moving them from general to special effectivness. Segments replace normal or advanced segments and move electricity from special to general protections. normal segments, like 10% base, make composite which is between regular and advanced. Good ones, like 25-30%, make exceptional resists. In regard to peace numbers: chest is 4, helm and legs are 3 each, boots biceps and bracers are 2 each, and gloves are 1. These each have to be same serial numbers. For segments you only need the correct number with the same serial number. With scales you need the number plus one with same serial because you lose one in making the schmatic.

I'm a Droid engineer that is looking for Padded armor. What are the pro's and con's of this? If this is not good armor please tell me. I'm searching for Armor that has low incombince and that looks some what good with good resists.

P.s.
I'm not trying to buy on this thread just trying to get some opinions.

Bang for your buck you are better off going with a little more encumbrance and getting composite armor which will provide you high level of resists vs. most damage types. The high level of protection and only being stun vulnerable (which can be removed through the use of stun layers) makes this the armor of choice for people who choose to wear armor in pvp. Composite also has the most condition and will last you the longest.

Going for lighter armor your best bet is ubese. Ubese is fairly light and can provide very high kinetic (special protection)resists making it a great suit of armor for pve. Ubese has more vulnerabilities than composite and lower base resistances. Ubese also only has 1/2 to 2/3 of the durability of composite.

Padded armor on the other hand is fairly heavy and really only protects well against blast damage. Generally speaking, padded gets outperformed by both ubese (lighter and higher kinetic resist) and composite (slightly heavier and much greater resists). The only thing really going for padded is that it has access to the full palette of colors...composite and ubese are much more limited. Paddedarmor is most often worn as a fashion statement than as an actual suit of armor.

If you have a look at your professions skill boxes you can see that Carbineer is certified for Battle Armor and BH is certified for assault armor.

Certain skill boxes in that profession reduce the movement, weapon speed and weapon accuracy modifiers when you wear that armor.

Assault and battle armor offer different protection.

Assault is better against kinetic damage (for good armor its about 6000kinetic to 4000 energy)
Recon armor (which your template can not wear) is better against energy damage (6000 energy and 4000kinetic)
and battle armor equally good against both (5000 for both)

THUS
As a MCarb you can wear battle armor without any penalties and have good protection vs. kinetic attacks
or
wear battle armor with some penalties to movement, weapon speed and accuracy and have a equal protection against energy and kinetic.

Now make your choice....

Uh, you somehow lost me on this passage.

From how i understand it, he'd have the choice to:

1. get assault armour, having higher protection vs. kinetic while having lower vs. energy and perhaps having some penalties as he's not master.

2. get battle armour, having equal protection vs. kinetic and energy and having no penalties as he's MCarb.

If i see this wrong (i don't have deep insigt into the inner workings of armour yet...) then please correct me.

unless you want to lose every encounter - only get the armor you are master certed for - in your case battle (if not it will hit your movement and attack speed).... You can always ask your AS to make it with all energy layers or all kinetic..
