Thread: Resource shifting
As we all know resources shift, many disappear, never to reappear. My question to the armorsmith community is, do the resources of hides and bones shift also? My guess is they do, but I just want to double check.
On that note, does anyone know creatures with high OQ of wooly, scaley, and bristely hides, as well as bones?
Thanks for your help.
Hard to say what creatures have HQ hide and bones. when they shift, so do the stats. I don't think , for example, a Tatooine Rogue Bantha will ALWAYS give Wooly Hide high in OQ. When it shifts, I think you may have to travel elsewhere to find the "next" High Quality Wooly.
each resource has a 'life' of 5-8 days. Assuming you spotted the resource on the first day of its 'life' you know you have 5 days reliable supply
When the resource'dies' it may not be immediately replaced by another of the same type (and never by one with the same 'name' so each resource is a unique one-off) and any replacement may not appear on the same or even all the planets (worst case: only 2 of the planets will have it)
This basically means that the exact named copper (for example) you mine today will never be available again, and you might not be able to find copper of the same type on your planet tomorrow (or any planet for a while). This has an impact on any experimental schematics you have made for factory production as these require the exact resources you used to make the prototype - obviously one you run out of one of them that schematic is useless forevermore.
It also makes you think about what you use in production, it might pay you to save a particularly high conductivity copper until you find a high quality chemical in the future so that you can make the best power ups possible (much better than anyone else is making with the currently available copper), but by the same token a better copper may come along and make your power ups worth less than those made with the current resources.
It also means that grinders should consider what materials they use to grind, as those materials may be worth quite a lot of money (and they are just going to waste it on proactice mode)
Hi all just started my first harvester and have been reading up on things, keep seeing mention of resource shifting, just what does this mean? Is it just from the list of resources that show with your harvester? Do the percentages for all the resouces change? and how often does it happen? and anything else pertinent ![]()
Thanks in advance for any info.
Thanks
Thanks!

Sometimes resources stay in spawn longer than others and sometimes not. We had this really nice intrusive on Kettemoor that lasted just 3 days.

Okay then...can a single resource shift off of a single planet...while remaining on others?
Thanks!
Yes. Seen a resource shift out when I moved from 1 harvester to the next but remain on another planet.

nope, if it goes out of shift, it's gone. also in my experience the shifts are 3-22 days and are completely independent of eachother.
also it seems good stuff comes in together - has anyone noticed that all of a sudden EVERYTHING on a planet will be kickbutt?
