Has R.I.S become too easy to obtain?

there was once a time when you saw R.I.S and thought WOW!, but now it has become commen and loads of people have it.

I believe it is too commen, there once was a time when GDK scales went for 3.5-5mill a piece now 350k each.

what do you think?

well seeing as it has no benefits over any other type of battle armor, i see no reason why it shouldn't be easy to obtain.

i think the epic armors, like RIS and Mandalorian especially, should be better than regular battle or assault armors. whether this be through inherent skill mods, or resists, they need to stand out from regular run ofthe mill armor. at least back when RIS was somewhat difficult to attain, it was worth it because you could make high resist, low encumbrance armor out of it.

FYI...Well made RIS will have condition in the 90-95k range which is over twice normal armors (40-48k range). Made with the proper 6k capped (or layered cores), RIS can be quite outsanding armor...A well made suit of RIS is the perfect class for plaing ADKs too...

I don't know if it's that much easier to get the components than it ever was.. but it is certainly pretty common these days.. at least on Starsider. I was having trouble getting any bites on the last auction I ran, so I did my current one at no minimum bid and it looking like it will sell for about 6 million. Most of the business I have been having for RIS is assembling it with components that the customer already has for me... maybe we are just too forthcoming with the locations of the drops these days

whupitee freakin dooo, who cares about higher condition? as you said, most people who have RIS made will ADK it, or at least the major parts, so condition is pointless.

The people who care are the ones that can't afford 8-12 mil/ADK (=72-108 mil for a ful suit)...In those cases, condition will be very important !

only need 7 ADK's on a full set of armor, and at least on Kauri, 8 mill is the max that an ADK goes for now, so that's 56 mill. you can get away with only doing 3 pieces (chest, helm, legs) as they take most of the dmg, and if you've got cyber arms, you wont need biceps/bracers anyways.

if they cant afford an ADK, they aren't going to be buying RIS armor. At a minimum, you're looking at 10 mill for a suit of RIS. for that same 10 mill, you could get 10 to 15 suits of regular armor, so anyone who is hurting for cash would more likely go that route as opposed to wasting their life savings on a suit of RIS.

i'm not saying the increased condition is a bad thing, it just doesn't do justice to an epic set of armor. they should have some other benefits that make them worthy of the trouble it is to craft them.

yes it has... atm I'm sitting on about 30-40 GDK scales and I haven't paid more than 600k for any one of them... only reason I still have so many is becuase I don't want to push out several suits at once, lowers their overall value.

Sad though at the fact that RIS armor has dropped in value, only a select few can wear it and that kills it's value right there. I think armor like RIS and Mando should be a generic type, that allows you to put whatever kind of core you watn into it so all fighters can wear it.

I am on Tarquinas and RIS is not that common at all here. Have maybe seen 4 or 5 players with it ever. I have been trying to get some made for several months now and have had no luck.As far as it being easy to obtain, I am finding it very difficult to collect the necessary components (i.e. the 9 Giant Dune Kimogila Scales, and the 9 Gurk King hides).

I have another post on this topic on this forum as well.

It's just as common on Tarq as anywhere else.. trust me. I've made suits for 4-5 people just in the last week. I've made around 50 suits on Tarq, and I had even stopped taking orders for it for many months.
