Thread: discussion: has R.I.S become too easy to obtain?
Nah, I think its good to actually see ppl using the stuff, no longer a show piece
with 60% deflection slice that 100k cond will last a LONG time

The people who care are the ones that can't afford 8-12 mil/ADK (=72-108 mil for a ful suit)...In those cases, condition will be very important !
only need 7 ADK's on a full set of armor, and at least on Kauri, 8 mill is the max that an ADK goes for now, so that's 56 mill. you can get away with only doing 3 pieces (chest, helm, legs) as they take most of the dmg, and if you've got cyber arms, you wont need biceps/bracers anyways.
if they cant afford an ADK, they aren't going to be buying RIS armor. At a minimum, you're looking at 10 mill for a suit of RIS. for that same 10 mill, you could get 10 to 15 suits of regular armor, so anyone who is hurting for cash would more likely go that route as opposed to wasting their life savings on a suit of RIS.
i'm not saying the increased condition is a bad thing, it just doesn't do justice to an epic set of armor. they should have some other benefits that make them worthy of the trouble it is to craft them.
Don't know about the armor being more common, but I've found the components are much easier to get mainly due to the shortened timers on the static spawns at Kimo Town and the wooly palace. I've spent a number of morning camping those spots with my ranger alt while running my main in a second instance. Craft a while and then tab over every 10 minutes, kill the beasties, repeat as needed. I've have very good luck with the scales. I'll even step aside and let another player have a turn if one intrudes on my camping trips.
Sadly no more of that for me. My ranger and smuggler are both cancelled. Two accounts down, one to go.
BTW I sell primus layered RIS for 8 million a suit with no gloves on Scylla. I sold a +350 health suit with pre CU socketed boots and gloves for 16 million.
