Thread: FAO: Thula Re: Decay
It's funny, after reading a lot of post in the discussion forums on the NGE, people are not missing it. In fact, they are all happy as hell it's gone and some have resorted to name calling, saying we were just greedy and had it coming to us.....
Ah, feel the love?

Yeah no kidding.
I already dropped AS. Used my token respec from the CU. Now I'm just hoping I'll be able to find armor when this new thing comes out. I really really want to go back to armor crafting, but I don't see the point if there is no decay. You would only need a couple smiths to support most people and if the hides are going to be as hard as people say they are to get, only the old masters will be able to do this. Good thing I made friends with them and if anything I could sell my current supply to a new smith to get a bunch of stuff....
Or it could totally work out....

I am very angry to say the least. First off, I agree with u and your post. Second, I have put up countless posts asking about the decay and how will it affect our player driven economy and have not received an answer from a Correspondent. And, I am not the only person posting their concern. I have seen hundreds of posts asking the same questions and getting no answers. Not one damn answer.
So, here I go again. Thula could u please tell us how the crafting professions are going to survive without decay? Or is this just a tactic to slowly phase the crafting professions out of the game?
Thanks

P.S. And for those of you that like to say "try the test center before you post anything negative", tons a people and myself have tried to get on and can not. And, the lucky few that do get on have to deal with some buggy issues. I do not think one crafter has gotten on there and found out anything about the decay.

I wasn't and am not getting upset with Thula, I knew before I'd posted about the holiday and fair enough.
I AM upset with SOE cos after 18 months of slogging my butt off to be a good AS I'm gettin the shaft!
I wasn't saying that to you. I was talking about the post that I quoted in mine.![]()
I wish we could get some sort of answer to their reasoning also.
I am pretty sure the devs are going to put in something that allows continual flow of income to us crafters.
They did to harvestors. After three months, if the harvies aren't used, they will "die". After you put the harvies to use a few times, they will "break"... and so we'll have to get new ones. Because of this, they made harvies easier to craft in the NGE I think.
Seeing that example with the harvies, I really believe the devs will add something in the game that allows armorsmiths (and weaponsmiths, tailors, etc.) a continual source of business.
Hey , I am not trying to blame the correspondents for this mess and lack of info and I am not mad at them. I am frustrated , like everyone else, about this mess. I am tired of looking at posts that ask important questions and finding no answers. Hey, by the way, the correspondents are here to give us the answers. If they don/t have an answer, then it is there job to find it. It has been almost a week since the poop hit the fan. I have seen tons of info for the damn combat types. I am pissed because there has been very little said about the crafting profession. Yes , I did read Guruweaver's post . It was pretty good, but there was still no answer about the future of the player driven economy .
Why am I mad? Besides what I have already posted, this is what I have learned from our correspondent (not Thula per se, all of the correspondents)
There is a huge problem with getting on the TC.
As a noob you get thrown right in to the Star Wars experience with some sort of mission that involve Han Solo , Chewie, and a millenium flacon that people are having a problem boarding.
No Decay .
Mob drops of hides is random and sparce.
A newer GUI and voiceover.
The END
Oh and one more thing , paying 15 bucks a month to be part of a Beta test for the Christmas launch of the PlayStation 3 and SWG. Will we get any royalties for this? lol
Look I love this game. I really do like a lot of you. And , I am a noob pretty much. I have not played a video game in about 8 or 9 years. I had lost interest. But then my friend who had been playing since the beginning got me into it. He kept on hounding me , telling me it was like no other game. So, I tried it. And here I am. I have been playing for just 4 months. In that time period, I mastered swordsman, pikeman, marksman, artisan, brawler , merchant, and my fave Armorsmith. During that time I became force sensitive and completed 2 phases of the Village which now means absolutely nothing. I play for at least 4 -6 hours a day and I have a fulltime job.
I have never experienced a game quite as cool and complex as this. And, the forums, I love the forums. I never posted on forums until I got into the game. I love the info that was provided by the correspondents. I love the trade forum. Indeed, there is no game like this. I posted a thread titled "Important All Armorsmith's". I asked in the thread if there is a game comparable to this one. Just in case I have to quit this beloved game. The replies I got where to try WoW. But, they also noted it had a lot to be desired for the crafting side.
I am passionate about this game as I know most of you on the forum are. I am optimistic and hope the changes are for the better. But, my gut tells me different. My gut tells me us crafters are in trouble. I ask and I get no answers. That is why I am pissed.

I don't doubt that this has been asked repeatedly but could you please talk to the Dev's and beat some sense in them over decay!
I just typed a really huge post about why this is bad for crafting and AS in particular. Problem wa sthat I spent so long composing it that I timed out of the forums and couldn't submit it. Upon hitting the back button I had a nice blank posting screen.

Moody... I can sympathise with tailors, my IG wife has been one for some tome. Having said that, people will always fancy a change of clothes or a new shirt even if they can wear 0 condition items. Personally I have wardrobes of 150-200 items for my 2 main toons. People won't do the same for armour though cos it's a lot more expensive and cos the stats are the most important thing to most people

The job of a correspondent is not to get us answers but to present our concerns to the developers. There's no way a corr can get an answer beyond asking a question and waiting for the answer. Unless Thula's psychic. You weren't around for the first CU. This is standard operating procedure for SOE.
