Thread: The real problem
I think that we were all hit pretty hard by the recent patch, and it's pretty clear that more thought should have gone into it. This has made much needed XP from more difficult MOBs become hard to come by, or made it aunequip/knockdown/equip just to keep from pulling a knockdown suicide. Lets at least try to look at the positives, we did get a slight XP boost, and the unarmed damage has been upped (Unarmed hits actually help a bit now). I know it's been said a lot, but this new patch sucks. I don't like the idea of a class having no choice but to rely on 1 skill alone. I put all of the blame on SoE (big surprise). They unknowingly made our TKA class too weak to do anything on our own, but the knockdown technique made up for it so it kept the complaints down (a.k.a. the real problem wasn't being dealt with). The real problem isn't that we practically lost a technique, it's that we had to rely on it up to this point. What I want isfor a large boost in defenseand maybe a little more in offense to make itwhere it is our choice to use a skill in a battle, not a necessity. I am hoping this issue will be resolved soon in order to keep everyone who is a TKA from canceling their accounts.
I'm not sure it was an XP boost, I think some mobs got tougher.
I know 2 of my pets had higher max HAM today. If this is the case then we have higher HAM mobs to papercut through with our defunct KD.
This is something that we all have to give some time to (like a day of two).It has hurt the class greatly, but it seems almost everyone is having simiar troubles. Hopefully we will be given something we can work with soon.
Thought that still doesn't excuse the bocatt incident (**edit**)!

Hey man, Iempathize withyour plight. I am also a rifleman, in a guild that is active in PvP. Now imagine being a rifleman and being so opposed to buffbots, you refuse to use them. I get by.
You must understand, the afk'ers and buffbots have so completely devalued the professions, that this has led to the small numbers of entertainers. How many doctors do you think you'd find in front of the starport if there were bots giving away the exact same buffs in the med center? There would be zero starport docs, and people would start dropping the profession because it would be seen as pointless. Imagine being a noob and picking up entertainer because it sounds like it'd be fun. Then being told that you will make no money at it, that you'd make much better money as a novice scout rather than a master musician.
You must understand that recursive macros have devasted the ranks of non-mule non-alt entertainers. On my server, we have a chat channel, and I counted 15 active entertainers at 4:30 AM. Your server probably doesn't have one. I'd suggest you start seeking out live entertainers now, and adding them to your friends list.
There are Doc buffbots though. Many of them. Yet still there is plenty of business to go around.
Don't get me wrong, I think buffbots are bad, real people are better. I also think a large portion of the population would prefer a real person to a bot.
The problem is that with Doc and Entertainer buff times not matching and not stacking it is just so inconvieniant.
Yes some inconvieniance is ok, people should be dependant on others. Yet forcing people to go to town twice as often, then sit around and wait is silly, make stuff match.
You PVP as a rifleman without mind buffs all the time. That is great, I try not to di, you will die when you fight another rifleman who does have mind buffs. With buffs my Mind hits 5000, I often fight other people with Mind just as high. If I fight somebody with less mind, they die.
