As SOE is considering who to place as a new correspondent, I have some advice for whomever they select.
Stay true to the fight. Right now the Armorsmith community is deeply concerned about the upcoming changes to armor. It is imperative that we stay focused on making our concerns crystal clear and known to the developers. The concerns are already on the table, they don't need to be rewritten and edited and personalized. That just makes us look scatterbrained and disorganized.
Don't try to calm everyone down. Everyone is mad and they should be mad. Telling people to calm down, and calling them immature is condescending.
When you engage the devs in dialogue, make sure they have heard you, and then be patient. Obviously they won't reply right away, but I assume they know that we are upset. Whether or not they care is beyond our control (I doubt even hordes of people saying they are quitting would sway their opinion).
Be a voice for the community. Don't be a sock puppet. Even if your concerns aren't answered at least you voiced them and we know you represent what our concerns are.
Show the devs that even though the armorsmith forums look like chaos right now, there is a very clear, simple, set of concerns we have and they arise from our consensus.
Don't be falsely optimistic, but don't be pessimistic either. The future is still unwritten and all we can hope for is that our voices are heard.
I hope this helps us think about what we need right now. And I'm not running for correspondent, didn't apply.

nice post.
One thing that I have been saying in a few other threads is that if we really step back and look at what we are asking for anyone can see that these changes are not by any means huge.
Most are just simple adjustments in the numbers (resources and faction armor). Also, we are not being entirely selfish in our requests. These are simple changes (dropping Armor certs, reducing organic resource needs/named resources back to originals) that if made will not only make most Armorsmiths happy but will great benifit EVERYONE is game. With lower armor costs and easier builds we can make our armor fun and not have it be a burden on us and the people that buy it.

Agreed. Simply put, the new correspondent should be someone who looks at their position as a job that exists between the gaming community and the developers. I think they should be much like a arbitrator who is very knowledgeable on both aspects (the core game and the specific profession) but also be able to recognize the balance between the two.
I am not saying the previous correspondents didn't do this because obviously we only saw the interaction with us, but this is a quality that each and every correspondent should have!

And have a really big ego, and be delusional. That's what they're looking for, I think.

Perfect passive/aggresive tactics! They like that too.
