Thread: Krayt Segments vs Advanced Composite

Bit confused so feel free to tell me if i'm being simple 
A guildmember wants me to fix him a chestplate with some normal krayt segments (10%Base). My usual advanced composite segments (what these krayt segments would replace in the final armour build) come out at 25% base 35% kinetic resists. I'm not being stupid when I think that my composite segments will produce an overall higher resist of armour am I?

You are right.
Krayt segments are generally little use unless they are 30%+ base, as that about what most AS will make with 3 layers maxed for base.
Keep in mind that Krayt segments will be much lighter and have higher condition though.
And as we all know, resist is everything, enc is secondary.
Methinks after Combat Upgrade....krayt armor will see a comeback though.

I had a couple of scales with base 43%. I made some gloves and they hit 80% to all stats, I sliced and they are now 90% all down the line. The HAM is something like 23, 20, 24.
This is amazing armour and shows the potential.
I could screenie laster if someone likes.

aye a screen shot would be nice.
The thing about Krayt Segs is that the good ones are rare to see. The best I've ever personally pulled were some 20% Segs. I was able to pull enough of these to get a couple cheater suits out of them that sliced up to around 60% Resist to all but Stun and LS. Pretty good suit for low-mid level PvE. Encum was low enough to equip the full cheater suit and still have positive secondary stats.

maybe I should do a screenie of my badboys 48% base 43.5k condition :-)

OK, there is a clicky linked to the gloves I mentioned.
I challenge anyone to post some better *none stun* gloves and I know there is only 3 sockets 
Anyway, just trying to help show what can be achieved with Krayt.

I must be clueless or something... how did you slice to 90% when all the resists get moved to special with krayt scales?

I got gloves 80% everything but stun and LS with 5/0/6 ham unsliced, have to take a screenie after work.. oh AND 4 sockets 45kish condition if I remember right
