I'm thinking the best combo would be Ubese Armor and a Personal Shield Generator. Ubese is only padded III but supposedly has no penalties.

Ubese armor has quite some penalties. If Bloodfin would be up i could tell you exactly what they are.

Im using a select few pieces of Chitin. (gloves, arms, biceps) The kinetics on them are around 14%. Penalties aren't that bad either. Most under 20pts for each piece.

They absorb a ton of damange though, so its worth it.

I was just wondering what armor to go with if you are a TKA because I dont want to have many penalties.

I'm currently about 500 faction points from buying my Marine Chestplate... 30% to everything but heat and poison?

Penalty for them is fairly high like 100+ health for the chest and I will have to be overt all the time but to me it seems worth it. I'm still not completely sure on the code for armor and damage but taking everything literally... if I took 30% less damage to my health by wearing the chestplate that could also be looked at as 300 dmg prevented out of my 1000 health... as long as the penalties total less than 300 dmg I'm happy with it. I'll walk around with300 HAM if it means I can stop 90% of the damage

One other thing I forgot to mention... you do have to consider the special costs. The only thing I ever use in daily fighting is Berserk and my stim packs. So I will have to watchmy Mind... although if I'm taking less damage I won't have to heal as much

Get one of the kinds that protect best against melee damage. (Don't remeber which does which. Might be mabari?) But get it special ordered. Have your armoursmith try to get as low encumberence as possible on it all. You might want to combine pieces from different suits to get the wanted effect there. Also; dropping the helmet might be a very good idea. It seems to take a lot more from your mind than it gives back in protection.

I also suspect a good shield generator would help a lot vs ranged, but I haven't been able to test this. Armoursmiths hardly even want to sell the first tier ones, as they say they run out or whatever within a very few fights.

socketed clothes. more advanced tailors can make clothing wiht up to four "sockets" in them. these sockets are for things like powerups to abilities and the sort i think. they dont have any encumbrance at all and are pretty much like clothes but with powerups i guess. i dont know how it works really but i think that is going to be pretty popular once more gems are found for the sockets.

Any word on armor advice for tkas. Should they wear any? What type should they wear. Right now shield gens are broken so either i get armor or just run around in my street clothes.
