Thread: Petition: Lower or Fix the insane hide requirements for Kashyyykian Armors

The number of hides is insane, and what we have to get to kill for them is even worse.
Banthas (tat wooly, low amounts given per kill)
Dantooine avian bones (voritors, again, low amounts)
Lok Leather (this one isnt bad)
And really good wooly for hides for padded armor.

I petition that either the amount of hides needed for this armor is lowered (not removed) OR that the amounts of hides that banthas and bones from voritors are doubled.

To make one specific armor for one specific species, and make it this hard to make, is not a good decision. All I'm asking is to just adjust some things.

Hopefully people will /sign, and 5-star this post, and maybe the devs will come see this

May i say i disagree completely

I make only wookiee armors now.

And i have no problem with the resources ....

Dath Leather is easy to get .... as is lokian leather

tatooine wool .... there are banthas all over the place ... and they die fast

voritor bone ... you can get more than 100 units per kill

sure it isnt as easy to make as composite .. but it is a lot more fun ... and it makes resource management important

yea but to get large amounts during the rare times when the spawn is actually good is a very hard thing to do if you arent a ranger or have ranger friends or what not...i mean in one run i go through about 50-60k wooly hide...that took my guild about 3 days to harvest...then iw ould have to pay 50 cpu or more to get the amount i would need to stock up until the next good shift...and then i would have to do that for the lokian leather or whatever...specific planets mean even less chance for a good spawn...and yea so basically i agree with the original poster...they need to make the armor not so hide intensive hehe

I'll sign this.

I definitely think they need to lower the amount needed.

Its tough anyway to find good spawns ofspecific resources, there are a lot more in Wookie armor than any other armor I believe.

The hardest part is getting a good amount of it without going broke. I realize you could pass the cost on to the customers, but I have never agreed with that practice... cause myprices may not be competitive.

The same thing can be said for all resources, not just Wookiee armor. Yes, you have to catch the spawn at the right time for the good stats. Yes, it can be hard to collect or buy the resources. All armor is like this from Bone on up. Wookiee armor is no different. My only beef with Wookiee armor is I have to collect yet more resource types to make it, namely wood. I don't own any Ag Harvesters and never will so odds are I'll never craft Wookiee.

Sorry, but I have to disagree with you here.

I to totally dissagree.. As a ranger, and an armorer

First, there aint that many wookies anyway.. well at least on my server.. i go days with out seing one. If i do its gennerly the same few wookies.

2nd, i hear armorers cry about needing wooly for composite,, and thant aint much and they have been doing it since launch. docs cry about neeeding avain meat, chefs cry about needing Bio-enhancements to make there food.. yea sure remove all that and and totally kill an entire profession. Its bad enough people can get more hides running missions than i can hunting in the wild.. Ive been a hunter and an armorer since launch.. 2 seperate characters.

3rd, voritor and bantha are soo easy to find its silly if you know where to look. lok leathery? god what doesnt drop leathery on lok. Dath leathery? getting that stuff is soo easy its discusting.

Just go spend some of those millions of credits your making,, and higher yourself some rangers and spread the wealth, rangers need love too.

Amen. Rangers are very underpaid- hence why there are very few of them.

the main problem is because there are so many specific hides you have a very small chance of them spawning in even the 1200 combined stat range during the same time period...we've gone months without a good spawn of specific hides before which means taht when one hits you have to either spend lots of money or lots of time harvesting what you need for the next god knows how long...anyway tahts just my thought

Once again this is true of all armor, not just Wookiee. My composite resources are the result of over a year of catching and collecting good resources when and where they spawn. I'm still in search of good Beryllius Copper and Crism Siliclastic Ore. You actually have it easier as Organic spawns turn over faster than a bad inorganic spawn does. Now that people are looking for the resources required in Wookiee armor, smiths making it will start collecting good spawns when they appear and before long you will have exceptional resources for Wookiee armor.

No group of resources required for a schematic spawn excellent quality all at the same time. When a need resource spawns with good stats, every crafter regardless of discipline that needs that resource spend lots of money and time harvesting it, so don't feel as if you are alone in this.

80/70 Composite took time to happen. The first sets of composite had base resists in the 40's simply because quality resources required for its manufacture didn't show up right away. Vertex Crystalline gemstone didn't spawn at all until we started complaining that its lack was gating Stun layers!

In a year, when there has been sufficient time for quality spawns of Wookiee armor resources to appear, look at the armor and decide if the resources need to come down.

Either lower the requirements/make them less specific, or put in a message in the loading-picture saying something like this:

"Attention all wookiees:

Be gratefull to the armorsmiths who make your armor, and sell it at such a low price. If they where to take the same price as an average Composite Armorsmith charge per unit of resources, a set of hunting armor would cost more than 1.5 million"

Maybe not that likely

Ive looked this over. Selling my hunting armor at 300k per set, I believe I am one of the most expensive armorsmiths making this on my server. I sell it at a 5 cpu per unit of resource ratio. This armor uses something like 13 times as much hide and bone as composite (the resources that actually costs something). So in all fairness, I COULD charge 3.9 million for this armor... But what do I get for selling it at 300k, the same price as mid-ranged composite? Whining about my armor being expensive...

I disagree as well. This obsession by armortsmiths about only making armor with absolute best of everything is out of hand. I can make some of the best wookiee armor on my server with only mid grade hides- i.e. 40 stun/65 base/80 kin with only 1300 oq/sr tat wooly.

Secondly, with wookiee armor requireing many organic resources it creates a lot of diversity amoung the smiths. Unlike composite armor, where there is little difference in stats maybe a 1-5% significance.
