Hi,

Any excellent armour crafters out there able to educate me on RIS layers?

I'm trying to work out how to acquire them. Ideally, looking to get hold of a lot so I can get a RIS layered composite armour set made

Anybody had exposure to these, or know where to get hold?

Made from a peko peko albatross feather, and some mineral resources.

I have two of them in my inventory at the moment

Are the resources quite rare then?

And...

Can I farm these resources and have a master Armour crafter make them for me once she's done the RIS quest?

And...

Do these layers go well with composite armour?

You are way better off going to Dathomir and fighting Nightsisters. The nightsister layers arejust as goodand are much easier to get.

You'll need 22 peko peko albatross feathers to make a suit of RIS layered comp.

9 x 3 = 27 plus 1 at least for the schematic

so.. a total of 28 for a full layered ris suit..

and I am needing 17 more feathers on Bria..

(anybody got some for sale?)

Advantage of RIS layers is that they actually are better than NS layer and once you have made your schematic for the layer and the segment you can keep the same for a long long time...

With ns layers you have huge issues getting identical serial numbers and waste a huge numbers in schematics...

Personally I just made my RIS layer schematic yesterday with the folllowing stats :

-6 action ham -7 mind ham ( I am guessing health ham is -6 too, can;t see until they fix the display bug).

3% base ( but base actually experimented to 59% so triple layering will raise base by 10%)....

I will make a segment triple layered with RIS latter this week and then I am all set to make triple layered composite =)

You would need 63 +, saying you had the layerschematic from quest, so 67 total including one burned for quest and 3 for segment schematic.heres the formula: RIS layers to completely layer a suit of composite. Chest 4 segs x 3 layers = 12, Legs 3 segs x 3 layers = 9, Helm 3 segs x 3 layers = 9, Boots 2 segs x 3 layers = 6, Left bicep 2 segs x 3 layers =6 , Right bicep 2 segs x 3 layers = 6 , Right bracer 2 segs x 3 layers = 6 , Left bracer 2 segs x 3 layers =6 and finally gloves 1 seg x 3 layers = 3. Grant TOTAL of 63. And they would all have to be identical.

Saying hypothetically you HAD that many feathers you would still need to burn an additional 3 more RIS layers to make a Segment schematic and 1 more for quest as i mentioned above. RIS layer calls for 135 Polysteel , 100 Oridium Ore and 85 Laboi Mineral Crystalline gemstone. Thats a total of 9045 units of good polysteel copper, 6700 Units of Oridium Ore and 5355 Units of Laboi Mineral Crystal Crystalline Gemstone to do quest, the segment schematic and all factory ran layers in one factory crate (or 2 crates).

Layer Ingredients:

135 Units of Polysteel

100 Units of Oridium Intrusive Ore

85 Units of Laboi Mineral Crystal Crystalline Gemstone

1 Peko Peko Albatross Feather.

Hope this information helps. Im sure it can also be found elsewhere also but thought i would add it and what it would take to makea full suit of composite with RIS layers.

Best layer i have made was 4% base 0/0/0 ham . Thats using **edit** good resources too.

Just so you know.

You can;t have minus numbers inthe final product.

I had -9 NS shards and when I made my final helmet it cam out with 0 action ham.

I was expecting -9

Well, ya, putting on a helm wouldn't GIVE you HAM...but **edit**, 0 action HAM??? That's nice.

Also, I had heard that in an upcoming patch, they will be allowing you to put 2 layers in RIS armor...Can anyone confirm this?

Just one further question. Do you get to keep these schematics once the quest is finished? Or do you have to repeat it...

Yeah its possible I saw a helm with a RIS layers in it... can't remember the stats. Thought the layer made with goof resources if they would spawn get pretty damn good ^_^. Sorry i can't be of more help
