Thread: Armour Question
Hi all
Was wondering what armour chest piece I can wear (undershirt , shirt or whatever) that gives me an armour rating but, will also still allow me to wear my Trenchcoat. Read somewhere long ago that this was possible. Is it an Ubese chest piece that will allow me to do this?
My thanks in advance for your responses.
Well, that depends on what you plan to use it for.
There are two main stats people generally aim for in armor: Kinetic or Energy
Kinetic is physical attacks, which most creatures do. If you want to mostly hunt, then you have a few options.
For the bargain hunter, I would recommend Advanced Chitin. It may be a bit difficult to find an Armorsmith to stock this, but it comes fairly cheap, and I was able to get about 50% kinetic resist (nothing to scoff at). I priced an entire set at 50k.
For the hunter which cash to spare, Advanced Ubese is the way to go. It is fastly cheaper than Composite and offers almost as good kinetic stats. I make mine with 65-70% on kinetic for Ubese. I price an entire set at 90k.
For about everything else, Advanced Composite is the Alpha and the Omega of armor. It's expensive though, and unless you take a further hit on your pocketbook (as well on some resistances) to get Krayt enchanced Composite, it's going to pound your ham aswell (some people have to have buffs just to put it on, and never take it off for that reason). However, you can get into the 80% on BASE (that's all the stats, not just energy or kinetic) which makes it the best overall regardless of it's huge price tag. For PvP or Downing NPCs, the range of protection you can get with Composite can't be beat. I charge 200k for a full suit.
(note: every server is different, and you shouldn't expect my prices to apply as stone to anyone else's. It may be more, it may be less).
On a final note, for the fashionably inclined armor fan, the padded armor now works with Rancor segments, making it (I think) a lot better. Padded is by far the most customizable (read: prettiest) armor except for that nasty, nasty helmet. If you want to run around looking your best, you might want to consider some padded for the view alone. I don't regularly sell padded, and can't recommend a price for it.
