Thread: GDK spawn area, any pointers ?

People keep complaining about drop rates and multiple drops, etc. Heck, I can't even fight the dang things. I've seen a total of 2 gdk outside of Kimo City since launch (and I explore a lot).
I found one tonight really close to the gurk king static spawn site (eastern one). Killed it after chewing on me for 10 min and of course, nada on loot argh. I'll tell ya what, if someone could turn me on to some waypoints and / or general area that they KNOW gdk spawn at I'd be willing to share some booty with ya (if I loot any scales).
On a side note, I did loot 14 woolamander bone fragments over past two days

Try circling the imp outpost at varying distances from 500m to 2000m.

The ones that pop on my areatrack, most are near the volcano. It's a bigger area than the krayt graveyard to search, but they're there, unless , of course, you live on a highly populated server that visits lok regularly. If so, then you won't find ANY wild spawns.

Ive done both areas before many times. The only other gdk I saw was somewhat close to the Imp Outpost, but I've never seen one since. The volcano area has heavy traffic, player city of LOK guild nearby. Sigh, well back to what I know I guess (woolamander temple)

Man this frustrates the hell out of me. I'm reading the post about "multiple ris loot bug" and several posts mention casually about killing 5 gdk and looting 2 scales, etc. Dang it people, where are you finding these dragons !!! I've never even seen 5 dragons outside of Kimo City in 11 months of play.
Someone mentioned near Imp Outpost. I drive by there every single day and check the surrounding area and never see a thing.
Someone mentioned near the volcano. I've seen nothing there, but we do have a large city there so maybe that effects the spawns ?
Is there any clue that can help me here ? I saw two dune kimos (56k ham) today. I killed them both and then another dun kimo spawned. Any chance a giant would spawn after them ? I literally drove from one corner of the map and back zigzagging all across the map in a vain attempt to find one. Please, any tips, suggestions, hints, etc is most appreciated. Sometimes I get the feeling there's a secret spot where they pop but its being kept to themselves.

Heh, sometimes they're there, sometime they aren't. I was out all last night checking my spawn areas and in 2 full sets of buffs I didn't see a single GDK.

Dont feel bad i've killed a total of 86 GDk's and not a single drop. Hunted them from the kimo town to the volcano with my wife. We are doing this on and off for a year now but we seemed to be outside the SWG inner click . Keep hunting and maybe 2 years from now you'll get one , good luck.

I also am after the GDK and other RIS stuff. try messaging me in game and we could work together and share info.

do you remember the last top 5 things we armorsmiths want to be fixed?
droprate of RIS loot was one of it.
if there are indeed more drops in the last few days, i am really sure its just because devs increased the droprate.
and taking a look at a GDK HAM and resistance, 2 out of isnt too much.
hard to solo, good poison.
so reasonable drop rate.
maybe we are going to see more RIS in the next few months.
oh, btw, i am RIS certified in Intrepid and waiting on GDK scales, got real killer resources on that

How long was it between spawns if I may ask ? The one I found recently didnt spawn anything after I killed him. Course that could be because someone else killed them earlier and I found the last one.
86 GDK, how is this possible ? Makes me even more convinced that this is a server by server issue. I lived on Lok for 6 months and looked every single day. My friends visit Lok daily also and never see them. Eclipse must have issues with city placements is my guess. How else can you explain such discrepancies in sightings ?
I dont have a problem with drop rate being low, Im bothered with the lack of even seeing a gdk. RIS should be rare but at least give me a shot at finding the animal that drops 1/400 loot

Well, it took me about 8 hours of searching before I found my first GDK, so it's not just you who can't seem to find the damn things... 
As for the duration between spawns.. it was like any regular static spawn... 'bout soon as the corpse of the one I killed disappears, the new one spawns. I'd say it's about the same spawning speed as the Black Sun spawns on Yavin IV. A good 5 minutes or so, I think.

I've must've dropped at least 50 of them by now, i actually got a "you have completely looted the corpse of all items" once
Turned out to be 11 Kimogilia Segments
(I won't even say what i did when i found out)
