1: Forcing crafting by hand is as far as I know not going to be forced upon anyone any time in the near future, nor have I heard any official plans to do so, stop panicking!

2: Many Changes will be coming to armor, but that is no reason to stop what you're doing now, and you shouldcontinue to keepworking with your buisness in the same manner as before

3: You do not need to worry about holding off on making RIS in the fears of losing very valuable components

4: I can't tell you many many many things I want to about CU, but I assure that you all have nothing to worry about and will be very excited when you see the changes.

5: There will be many rumors bouncing around about the CU, please remember that people who actually know what's going on signed an NDA so tight we can't tell you anything or face very very bad things from SOE, these are rumors, and further, since it is alpha, what may have been true a week ago might be changed and could no longer be a problem a week from now.

6: Don't Panic!

7: Never Forget your towel.

That is all, please everyone, take a few deep breaths, and go back to your buisnesses.

yea, i never understood that whole first thing.. also no idea why people care how many starts they get.. guess that is beyond my meer mortal way of thinging.

confirming the RIS thing is nice, as i just made my first stuff,, only been working on it a year /grin

im totally pumped for combat upgrade, even talked to a few in the sand box but they are all the same... You will like what you see and thats about it hmm not knowing is that a /grin or /frown

Factoy crafting. To be honest with you I think something needs to be done. Being able to run 20-30+ factories vs the guy that has 1-3 is a huge advantage, Im sorta in the side of hand crafting, i do understand that some dont wanna slave and make armor by hand but i did do it for 8 months, seamed just easier and faster than using my 3 wearables to make suits. But i guessthats just me. What about possibly a factory use limit? One that keeps you drom running lots of factories.

An idea would be a counter ingame that a schem with your name on it is being run you cant start another well it would ahve to be higher than 1,maybe caps at 3-5It would have to be more than one or it would serriously hinder the crafting profs, unless the factory times where seriouslydecreased. but that would still require you to have to be on a lot changing schems every couple hours, soo that would probly not be a good option, but a limit i think could work. There should be some sorta limit to keep lot traders on an even base with those that dont. Just cuase i have the abitly to pump out 1000 suits a week doest really mean i shoulid beable to.

Just a few minor comments in gold.

Good. I don't know where the rumor got started, but it never sounded plausible.

2: Many Changes will be coming to armor, but that is no reason to stop what you're doing now, and you shouldcontinue to keepworking with your buisness in the same manner as before

Though I might speculate thatit would be a good idea to start looking at and collecting resources for armor other than composite?

In that same vein, and assuming that Padded Armor becomes viable and demanded, I'm hoping they address the Yavinian Wooly Hide scarcity issue (random Woolamander spawns with Harrowers as boss mobs ala Gurks on Lok would solve two problems at once ... hint, hint).

3: You do not need to worry about holding off on making RIS in the fears of losing very valuable components

My only concern in this area is thatif they go with anArmorCertification System, people who have spent untold millions of credits on RIS suits will be ... shafted ... when the CU comes around.

4: I can't tell you many many many things I want to about CU, but I assure that you all have nothing to worry about and will be very excited when you see the changes.

I'm not so worried as I am skeptical. I never thought combat was all that broken to begin with. Completely scrapping and rebuilding the core combat system of a game 1.3+ years into its release doesn't particularly bode well.

What? Yavin wooly drops from mamiens as well, which are a dime a dozen.

I think the handcrafting rumor got started from the amount of handcrafting that is done with shipwright. I think the fear is that SW was a test to see how it went. And no, I'm not worried. I only worry about worrying about that which I worry about. Heh.

I can't be bothered to worry about things I don't know about.

You ever try to gather or buy300K Yavinian Wooly Hide?

Mamiens may be a dime a dozen, but they are rather low-level and do not provide nearly as much hide as would be necessary if we would be making a ton of Padded armor with advanced segments. Mamiens con blue or light blue to combat profession masters. Woolamanders con white. You'll have a much easier time getting a ton of Yavinian Wooly hide if folks can pull missions on them, too.

Plus there's the whole "Harrower Bone Camping" issue.

I've never tried to buy, let alone gather, 300k of any hide. But I do gather a good portion of my own hidesand I always thought of Yavin as one of easier planets to get wooly from. They may not drop a lot but they spawn so many that it makes up for it. Seems to me I can manage about 15k of Yavin wooly in a buff session with my TKM alt, 110 harv droid, and veghash. 15k is about average of what I can get from most planets in a buff session. You want to fix wooly drops, do something about Talus wooly (paralopes anyone? not even worth it for newbs), or Lok wooly.

One tip for those of you with Wooly issues-

Make friends with a Ranger. They're few, and far between now, but a master ranger (especially with a 110 droid) can harvest HUGE amounts of hide a day (my record was 45K avian meat, from Nunas around theed. took me 8 hours, but with the stats it had, didn't do a thing again for months)

A novice scout trying for 300K wooly, just ain't going to happen. That's why SOE made Rangers. If more people worked with them, then you'd probably see more. And no, this isn't a ranger plug (per se), just a tip for the local AS. Other ideas- keep a ranger in armor for so much hide a week. Trade decent chitin or other low-level armors to newbs grinding scout, or CH, for stacks of hide. Don't need to put a credit value on everything sometimes barters work out better for everybody.

No I don't have a freakin sig. Just make something up and pretend it's here man. woman. umm...Whatever.

I don't have fear in making ris to lose components. i have enough stuff to make 11 suits.

however, is ris going to be the best armor after the revamp. right now, ris stats are not much better then comp, unless you spend millions more or wait for high % NS layers, cubes. Yes the ham can be nice but no one is looking at the stats of ris, they just look for the color they want.

they really need to move kinetic % back to the base and not in special. however ris is suppose to be for kinetic resist, but the ris kinetic resist is in special, unlike comp you have to spent points to make the kinetic better.
