Well since we will be getting 1shot killed if we dont have combat I was thinking Armorsmith TKA with some other melee line or with a line of medic. The medic healing line is so crappy I dont know if a 200-300 heal is even worth it. I was thinking artisan 4033 so I can have 1 vendor and have survey ability. But the big question is combat. I dont want to be killed trying to find resources and placing harvestors. My old template was Armorsmith Doc.

RIght now I have Novice Carbineer. I had been thinking of moving to novice pistoleer, but I want to see the stats on the different armors before I make my decision. The problem is I don't have enough SPs to get anything much beyond Novice Elite Combat profession. I have a lot of SPs tied up in merchant. Maybe I should rethink that since most of its skills are not worth it.

Funny that this post should pop up. I was thinking the same thing after i read this comment from the chat yesterday:

"Brannoc - *RRR187* How will crafters place harvesters on planets now, since creatures kill low level characters so quickly?

Helios_SOE If you wish to gather resources in dangerous areas, you should either get a PSG or you could also hire some other players to protect you in the wilds. "

I guess I will have to drop much of merchant. I do hope that they let more than just the combat players respec.

EDIT: I think the reasoning by Helios is nothing short of despicable. And I'm sure it will be the merchant profession that suffers for it.

Why so many in merchant?

300x is all you ever need (x depending on how many vendors you need)...

  • Efficiency is useless, credits have never been an issue for me.

  • Hiring is useless, pick the vendor type you want and drop the line.

  • Even advertising is a bit doubtful now with the vendor search.

A bit on it's head from you guys but.

I am far more known for being a grenade supplier then anything else. So after I saw how if you dont have two full combat trees you stand barely half a chance, I decided to give up all combat.

I am now master Weapnsmith and master Armorsmith. Think I am going to take some merchant (an alt sells my stuff), maybe some other things too.

I also have a completed Jedi build for anything else I want to go do.

Yeah...I don't have any hiring, but have a number of vendors on different planets. I figured Effiency would be the next to go since I've got credits. And agreed, the vendor search has pretty much nullified the planetary advertising need. So, I guess push hasn't come to shove yet. (I don't fight enough to have tons of combat xp), but it looks like Merchant skills will go away unless they change some things.

They want ya to hire out people to give everyone something to do while they continue to ignore the fact that there is no content in this game.
