HAVE ANY OF YOU DEVS EVER PLAYED THIS GAME??? DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT THE MAIN FACTORS THAT DRAW PEOPLE TO THIS GAME ARE??? DO YOU KNOW WHAT THE HECK YOU ARE DOING OUTSIDE THE CODE STRINGS YOU CREATE???
This is NOT an upgrade!!! This is a total re-write of SWG. How is it possible that the development team could do this without ever even letting us know. STOP LYING TO US!!! MOST OF US ARE IN COLLEGE OR HAVE COLLEGE DEGREES. YOU AND YOUR GAME ARE NOT SMARTER THEN US. WE SEE THROUGH YOUR BS!!!
This in effect is an attempt by the development team to start this game from scratch...after 2 years of apparent "live" beta testing, they have rewritten the game. After the "little upgrade" what will be left of the old game, the planet names???
Armor now requires OQ+UT+DR- SR is out and after searching through 43 million units of resources I have 1.6 millon of any value
Scaley hide is now to be used for Assault Armor (basically replacing wooley as the main hide)
17 different kinds of hide or whatever...who gives a crap!!!!!Who was it that actually wanted more types of armor AT THE EXPENSE of all of this??? (Again we are not stupid, don't tell me that this is a great thing, or I need to specialize)
The Sony Development team has nerfed this game back to noob stage for everyone. In effect this is a big F*** You to every single player who has played since launch, or just after launch. I am sick and tired of this game being an "us against them" with the devs, and having the devs be so ARROGANT as to feel they need to develop a game that cannot be "beaten" rather then making a game that is enjoyable for a large audience.
The devs are like the Insurance Company in John Grisham's "The Rainmaker" They are hoping that we will just suck it up and keep playing. Our loyalty to the SWG genre is more important to us then the playing experience. Well if these changes take place, and I am nerfed back to noob for all intents and purposes, all 4 of my accounts are gone, and I am going to WoW or Guild Wars or even just gonna wait till Dark & Light but I will NOT pay^60 total a month for this crap any more!!! I hope with the BS re-write they expect to gain a lot of accounts because I am sure that they will lose plenty.
Question to the Devs: This has now been 2 1/2 year of retreading the same stuff, same content over and over, you just keep changing the rules. Why did you not just make 2-3 more planets with content like the Corvette, DWB and Geo Cave (you got 1 done that is a start. Just imagine if you did not wastea year and a development team on the BS re-write. Had you provided higher payouts and better loot drop rates, you would have encouraged the type of grouping and difficulty you desired. The original planets should have stayed the same, allowing for soloing, noob template development and and area to "learn" the game. Instead, you retread the same old crap again, changed the rules for like the 5th MAJOR time and gave us some crap about "balancing." What is your overall intent and plan for this game??? It is obvious it is not about enjoyment or fun. Is it an ego boost??? Do you have that little of an understanding about sales and marketing??? Do you know that it is 10x (on average) harder to gain a new client then to keep an old one. How many noobs have 2+ accounts??? I know I have 4.

Nah he is right, so they pushed a messed up game out to fast, now they are being made to push out this to fast as well. We have lived in this system long enough to work it, new/real content would have helped alot, not like the nerfed right away jtl crap, but something good. I hope that the CURB is worth while because honestly we PAYED to beta this game for them for 2 years.

Well, I know that if SR is dropped from the armour resources I am prolly done making armour. I enjoyed it, but if they dumb it down and change the resources, I am out.
I worked hard to get the resources and learn the craft, and I can make armour as good as any smith on the server. I am not replacing 20 mil of the servers best resources because someone changed their mind about what stats should be important for armour.
Pretty much, if armour crafting goes live in its current state (coupled with the nerf doc is taking) I am more than likely gonna cancel my AS/Doc alt because there will be no point in keeping it.
I understand changes needed to be made but some of this seems 100% un-needed and unwanted.
Why change from layers and segments to cores? Why not just change the stats on the layers and segs to the new system?
Why not just add new segments for the new armour types and make some adjustments to the old ones? You could even mix-and-mash resources required from current armours into the new armours so smithes wouldn't need to expand their resource inventory too much.

Well...I see where it is easy to get angry about all this, but I refuse to do so.
I had alot of fun for 2 years and I thank the devs and SOE in part for that.
But just like a bad sequal to a good movie, I'll save my money and go see a completely new movie instead.
I had high hopes for this sequal...I even thought it was dam good when I first started testing it.After playing for 5 nights straight now on TC5, than seeing what is in store for Jedi and now this,
my wiener has now retracted back into its travelling position. I'm not jumping ship yet...but im beginning to inflate the liferafts.

Eeeeasy there fellas (And fellow'ets). The devs are not your enemy. Blixtev said it was because it made more sense at the time, and he was willing to look it over again with the outroar against it by armorsmiths everywhere.
This is a beta stage, while we may get angry about proposed changes (Sure, I did too) it is uncalled for untill the devs actually say "Hell no, why should we listen to you?". There is no reason to go off your hinges because of this. Help find a solution instead.

It's stickied at the top of this forum - the "CU beta quick info" thread.

Let me just say one thing.
"IT'S A GAME IT'S NOT REAL LIFE"
Although i agree - why change the resources?
I also have20-40 mil of useless resources if this goes to plan .
I hope not, but things do change. Remeber it's still in test stage.
I for one have crafted every piece of armour you can in game apart from a full suit of Mandolarian- For obvious reasons .
I think it would be good to start again . I would look forward to the challange !

Yeah, what he said. I support Armorsmiths in their disappointment, but jeez, enough with the hysterics.

There would be a positive side effect of changing resources. Yes, it would be painful for those with large amounts invested in existing resources... But it would allow new people to enter AS with some chance of putting up a competitive product. I realize that existing a'smiths could care less about that, but it is a consideration. Im not ranting here by any means, but take myself for instance - Ive done every crafting prof with the exception of AS, and one major thing that has held me back was that the resource stockpiles I have for the most part to not translate well into AS, and that deterred me from doing it, since ive always crafted for fun and friends and rarely have over 500k creds, so i dont have the capital to aquire the top notch resources that would allow me to craft an excellent product. Looking at the CU im considering taking up AS since it could possibly allow for a new AS to produce a competitive product. Im not saying this is how it should be, but in any constructive debate, you MUST consider viewpoints other than your own, and not automatically assume that your viewpoint is the superior one. I do believe that it is a shame thata new crafter has little chance of creating a sellable product in AS/WS becuase of the fact that many have stockpiles of best-ever spawns, and the amount of money in the economy leaves nearly no market share for budget-priced or mid-grade items. There was a entry-level market like that around eisley when all new players started there, but having scattered the noobs to the wind, that market was mostly destroyed.
and it seems to me in my non-as experienced opinion that making more than a single product viable for sale (comp) is a good thing overall. Not if you are narrowly tuned into pure comp production, but from a game perspective, it makes for better gameplay if AS can practically sell more kinds of armor, and opens up the market somewhat by allowing AS to specialize in other armor types, making for a less saturated market.
