Thread: Organic resources gained per kill should be raised after CU

The CU is trying to make the game harder for everyone, as combat is currently much to easy. I have no problem with this, and I am looking forward to it, even if I am nervous for my Jedi character. However, with that added difficulty, there should be some added reward.

Currently on my server, you can't buy hides of any quality for less than 30 cpu due to the pain in the ass it is to collect any usable amount of them. If it is a quality resource, the price easily hits 100 cpu. With the fact that grouping will be necessary to kill creatures that drop good amounts of hide (50+ per kill) it's going to make it all the more expensive. Add that to the fact that there are a number of extremely wealthy armorsmiths on my server, and I can see 200-250 cpu looming on the horizon.

I am asking that they raise the amount of hide gained per kill by 5 fold. A dwarf nuna that now only drops 4-5 hide would drop 20-25 hide. Creatures such as rancors, which will require a group of at least 5, would drop about 2000 hide.

Honestly I would be happy if they just doubled it.

This will probably raise the value of a ranger's services too. I doubt I'll see any more lots of 2k grind hides on the bazaar. Thank Jabba I finished grinding AS a week ago.

Gentlemen I got bad news for you. As it is Rangers arent getting the Health bonus and only get an armor cert. Also, we havent gotten a skillpoint change or reduction like many other professions making us the biggest skillpoint sink in the CU presently. So, you have the most useless profession gimped by not receiving any extra health bonus because they dont consider us a combat professsion. Unlike doctors who do get the bonus yet cant initiate combat with any of their skills.

Rangers are up in arms about it and if the decision to not give us the health bonus doesnt make it in you are going to find resources a helluva lot harder to find. We have had our Scout and Ranger correspondent doing their best to get a reply from the devs about it but they are ignoring us totally. Basically were screwed. You will see no Rangers and very few scouts.

If you would like to read up on it further and add your thoughts to our plight please click here.

New home of SWG Rangers!

That's all right. We'll recoup the cost of the hides when we start selling you guys Mabari chestplates for ~500k

I am sorry to hear that rangers are not being treated as a combat class. Maybe you'll getthe abilityto talk the animalsinto sitting very still while you skin them alive.

Lol!

Do you think you'd sell armor to a ranger?

Guess you never been on the ranger forum ...

Most of us tend to be used to do it all unbuffed/unarmored

And if you really are goig to ask 500k, next time around when you need something we will have to triple our prices... then you will have to and then ...

I think that's called inflation... Look in other threads for possible solutions

Hey, if you guys don't get that extra health for being an elite profession, you're going to need that Mabari Chestplate. Oops, all I have left is Bone armor, on sale now for 400k! Bone armor bracers for 150k each!

My current ranger probably will drop down to scout 3040 and will be combat wise a tank-template based on TKM. You ain't selling any armor to this Hunter I'm afraid (ok the two chars need armor but thats a different topic :-)).

Because Ranger is not a combat profession...will you be able to move it for free in the respec?

That question bugs me too :-).

I might actually do the drop before the curb and just spend all the points in any kind of combat

Hehe

Still, you forget 1 little detail. As it is right now I'm not having much more health then post-cu (both 1k). Yet I manage fine. However my killing abilities will be drawn back (I can't keep novice rifleman and /concealshot anymore) and, on top of that, the new aggroe/hate system is a pain in the ass for rifleman (having tanks, read pets, is almost useseless, cause 1 shot causes creature to aggroe you).

So I will figure a way out to circumvent and learn again. Don't hold your breath on me buying any armor.

Instead I'll be selling some ubese that I used in emergency situations: boots, gloves, jacket and pants, or trade it for padded

As a Novice Rifleman with Scout 1/4/3/4 (the 3 is the hunting line BTW) I can whoop things that drop 27 hides easy.

Now I'm not saying that things will be fine they way they are, but its not quite as bad as stated in the first post.

Us Rangers are still getting screwed. It looks like you are getting even worse...

The major increase in hides needed to make armor is another reason this should be raised.

They did increase resource harvesting. There is a % increase for having a ranger, a bigger increase for master ranger and no reduction for being in a group. Does the net increase balance out the current hide on TC hide needs? I dont know. But they did increase.
