Thanks to everyone who didn't want to deal with the changes or who just sat on their hands all weekend, I made a small fortune.

Ok, first off I would like to say that I have been a Master Armorsmith for nearly a year and a half now and I was a dedicated crafter of Composite and Kashyyykian Hunting Armor before the CURB. I spent approximately 65 million credits on my experimentation/assembly outfit that consists of a bandolier with +15 Armor Experimentation/+22 Armor Repair and a belt with +25 Armor Assembly/+9 Armor Experimentation. I also have no less than 3 million units of Colat Iron that is valued at anywhere from 25 to 40 CPU on Naritus and over 2 million units of various wooly hides with a minimum of 880 average between OQ/SR. I also have a storage vendor that was filled with nothing but backpacks full of armor enhancers.

Now, that said, I had the best four days of my Armorsmith career the since the CURB. No, armor crafting is NOT the same and it is highly unlikely we will ever see it changed back to the way it was. I have focused mainly on Rebel Faction Armor, but I have also been making all of the other types of armor on a special order basis. I have already had repeat buyers so the grind through factor is still fairly high on armor. I have also met a lot of new people who are sure to become long term customers. I am back to crafting nearly all of my finished products by hand and it is fun again. I absolutely loved my profession before, but I am beginning to appreciate it now in a new way. For me, it is a blast to know that an entire Rebel unit has been through a tough battle with Imperials wearing armor that I made. I always crafted unique colors of Kashyyykain Hunting Armor and now I am working with my own unique color ways on the rest of the armors. I have had more orders for Padded Armor in the last four days than I have had in my entire time as an Armorsmith.

That being said, I had to spend 8 resource deeds to get the resources I needed as well as do some trading with a few friends to round out my new requirements. I attended the dev breakfast in Indy with two of my best friends from in-game and real-life and we decided that we were going to embrace whatever changes may come and try to capture as big of a market share as we could. I am happy to say that between myself and my two friends (a 12 Point Master Weaponsmith and a 12 Point Master Chef/Smuggler) we managed to bring in more cash in the last four days than we had made in all of 2005. We made a few gambles on resources and making various items before the CURB and putting them into storage. We didn't do anything that was so unique that everyone else could have taken advantage of as well. We just decided that we had to embrace the game as it is and adapt to it as quickly as possible. Being a true master is taking what you are given and using the best of your abilities to excel.

I know that there is a lot of frustration here and I was one of the most frustrated of us all a few weeks ago. I have been a member of many of the flaming posts and had many posts deleted from the Temporary CURB Forums. I am not trying to rub this in anyones face, I'm just trying to let the people that do have hope left know that the game is still there and people do still need armor from us! I know my sales will likely not maintain this pace, but I have certainly expanded my customer base and more than made up for the few high level combatants that will actually end up leaving.

I would like to thank everyone that made helpful posts over the weekend and if anyone has questions about crafting now, feel free to send me a PM as I had to open up IE to post this (I'm a die hard Mozilla Wookiee). I am fully prepared to be flamed, but I just wanted to voice my opinion since the negative voices seem to be dominating the boards as of late. There are still a lot of broken things that need to be fixed and a lot of bugs, but the only way to make things better is to play, have fun and do your part to do a /bug or a ticket when you find something that is wrong. There have been a lot of positive alterations made so far thanks to our new Correspondent and the rest of the still optimistic Armorsmiths out there.

Per your post, I will say that what little crafting I did this weekend was fun, but I think it was mostly due to the newness. I used to handcraft everything and color to my customers' desires and I feel I'll be doing that again. But based on the amount of tells I got in the limited time being on, I can see myself burning out again from handcrafting constantly.

I was also felt sad everytime I put some resources in the factory. Putting that many resources into one suit sure did hurt this kid, but I guess we'll adapt somehow. As long as I can get those named organics.

Your right, you will be flamed. And, dont expect the business to stay. Heck mate, im still doing the same amt of business before as after, thats not the point. The point is about it being a challenge. The cu armorsmith class isnt a challenge, its a joke. Any first week noob can do it now with little or no thought processes. I mean with layers you have 1 line of experimentation that gets capped out after about 8 experiments, then you have battle segments which has 2 lines, here we go again, lets see resist or condition, hrmm. again you cap out on experiment after 6/7 and leaves some for condition that doesnt do alot as most condition is in the final assembly. Then you have cores, which low and behold again has the same concept which you cap out on fairly fast. Then final assembly and what do you have here, omg, its condition only.

Armorsmithing before this use to be about challenge to get the best armor but be unique from others. On my server, I was a specialist in padded armors. While others dealt with comp or ubese or whatever. Now, the individualism is gone. Thank you soe for allowing this guy to do more business, but he doesnt grasp the concept that we arent talking about credits, we are talking about fun and challenge.

Here is a news flash for you mate, I can make 2 mil credits in less than 2 hours in space with no armor needs. So credits isnt why I do this profession.

Nice of you to be a smug little b@stard. You could have posted your happy story without an attitude. Thats ok, because the maturity level of the community will resemble world of warcraft very shortly and you might be right at home. Congrats though, as many have posted before - its not about the money for most of us, its more principle.

This has been my favorite profession for going on a year and a half. I'm upset about the changes and I was one of the first ones to post on all of the flames and complaints about the game. I sent multiple e-mails to the devs about our issues. I also talked with Blixtev for nearly an hour at the Dev Breakfast in Indy. The game isn't going to change for me and it isn't going to change for you firehammer. The longer that everyone else sits on the sidelines, the more that the people go cope and adjust will get ahead. If you want to think I'm a greedy b*stard, than by all means, do so. I'd rather learn the new system and enjoy the game every time that I log in than sit and cry and whine about every single thing that I do not like. The reason you play a game is too enjoy it. If enough time passes after the CURB and people are still unhappy, then I hope you don't stick with it.

I guess my point behind the post is just to say hey, ya know what the CURB sucked but I'm going to suck it up and adjust along with the game. I enjoy the game just as much now as I did in the beginning. The challenge of Armorsmith was awesome and I'm glad that I was able to be a part of that time of the game, it makes me feel a since of pride. That pride will never exist again within any of the crafting professions because of the caps and diminishing returns on crafting. For a long time during beta I was ready to hang it up and move on. The day that I spent six hours trying to download the publish and logged in only to see every enhancer I had broken (now they are fixed a bit thanks to Caile and the rest of the persistant bunch) and the majority of my resources no longer as valuable or useful I was ready to walk away.

I didn't because I still like the idea of the game and living/playing in the Star Wars Universe (I'm assuming that is the reason that the vast majority of us started playing SWG in the first place).

I know the feeling of frustration with the CURB, I went through the same thing that all of you did. I guess I just never was a whiner.

Good luck.

However you turn it I can't condone you selling faction armor so cheap though dowei. I'd be interested in hearing your reasoning about that price ingame sometime.

The problem is, that enjoying stars wars universe also has to have a purpose of being. There is no purpose to being ina rinse and repeat on making armors. Yes im still here, but im just not sure for how long because the more I play, the more I get frustrated. He11, I died 5 times last night just trying to get into my darn house because the creatures kept following me into a private home.

Hehe...Well according to most of the posts in this thread it is because I'm a greedy, smug little b@stard.

Actually that was one post, and it was thanking you for your smugness. Making a lot of money in this system is like stepping in the biggest piece of cow patty, and then being smug about making the money is like rubbing it in people's face. I for one am glad that you are part of the fraction of the community enjoying yourself. However, i don't want your @#$# rubbed in my face, because it stinks no matter if it is your "best" days of business. And you can expect some good business because hardly anyone is making armor anymore. It's supply and demand. Credits or no credits. The level system is destroying the game. Funny thing was, levels weren't even in the CU plan a month and a half ago.

I'm not mad that Dowei is selling so cheap because he is taking customers from me, more that he is doing himself a disservice selling so cheap.

I am on the same server as Dowei and I take 1.75M per suit. I've sold over 40 suits in two days, so I can't imagine how Dowei can keep up with orders.

At least I now know how Shipwrights felt when JTLS hit, standing handcrafting hundreds of pieces for hours on end!
