Well.. i became a master for some weeks ago.. searching for my 20 exp points now..
So a guy contacts me.. selling a +8 Experiment tape..
I ask him how much.. and he replies 20 MILLION. =//
So this is getting out of hand.. tapes are selling at stupid prices... and to really get my 12pt will cost me over 50 million ??
What the hell, is the economy ruined or something??

I am a 10 pt smith, and the exp tape prices are simply ridicolous. Whenever I stocked the vendor and make 5 mil or so, I just spend it all on resources. I hope the price of these tapes will eventually fall some
btw, +12 DE exp tapes sell for like 350k....**edit**?

You basically need a PA behind you to help you get them.
I also dropped all other skills and have Master Rifleman and 0-4-0-4 Swordsman. I'm out getting the skill tapes myself, I'll prolly get them myself quicker than it would take me to get that kind of money.
But yes, the prices are ridiculous. But as long as people pay 50million+ for them, ya can't blame the sellers.

What the sellers aren't considering is that the higer they charge for lucking into a +8 skill tape the more they are going to be charged for their armor and the harder it is going to be to find HQ armor....it is a vicious circle that loops outward.

just be patient
I have noticed on my server these things went on cycles. There will be a few smiths bidding against each other and driving up the price. After they reach their +20 you no longer have to bid against them
the price will only remain high untill smiths finish out their crafting suits. SO if you wait long enough you can expect prices to fall considerably.
It wasnt too long ago that I would make some armor, wait for it to sell, buy resources with cash , rinse, repeat.
hang in there, you will eventually get your tapes, and get that cash balance up there. I am not rich but I have enough in my account to buy resources or a luxury item if I want.
also....you may be better off becoming an elite fighting profession. I am a rifleman/AS. go to dantooine and do janta missions. You can easily get 200-400k an hour if you hurry. You can clear 1 mill anith doind 30k missions no problem. You can get a couple of tapes a week at that rate before you even sell armor.
hope that helps

Why are new smiths so bent on getting them extra points, the only difference in 10 point smiths and 11 and 12 is HAM(and no one cares about HAM really, well except for me I guess), unless you go for those elite setups with 4 specials. Ive given pointers to new smiths that actually grasped the concepts and made killer stuff.
just my 2 cents, Id focus on collecting the uber resources 1st, then the tapes and stuff, and yes I do think 20 mill for +8 is rediculous.... Oh well no one listens to me anyways /shuffles back to the backroom and turns on the crafting station /silently wishes for a new wooly spawn

Actually, it makes a big difference in the base %'s of armor also. 12 point smith's TripleLayered Armor is about 3-5% higher in base than mine.

At what stage of the process are you not able to max the experimentation line for base?
I have 10 points and maxing any one line has never been a problem....Up to 95%...maybe more. (The exception would be durability, but that's because of the UT factor...and another thread)
My guess is they have better resources.

it seems that armor experimentation SEAs go for a lot higher than all the other experimentation SEAs. Maybe people think all armorsmiths are at the credit cap (which is 99,999,999 btw).

So when you are making Stun layers you can max out the resist %'s for stun AND the base %? The only way to do that would be a crafting exploit.
