Actually, it makes a big difference in the base %'s of armor also. 12 point smith's TripleLayered Armor is about 3-5% higher in base than mine.

At what stage of the process are you not able to max the experimentation line for base?

I have 10 points and maxing any one line has never been a problem....Up to 95%...maybe more. (The exception would be durability, but that's because of the UT factor...and another thread)

My guess is they have better resources.

My guess is you have never made maxed stun layered composite. Most of your skill points go into maxing the stun % on the layers. The rest into base. If you have 2 extra points to go into base, the end result IS 3-5% greater base effectiveness.

You're right. That's whyI mentioned the ability as it relates to ONE line.

In the original post, he mentions nothing about any other stats. Just getting a higher base. My question wasn't intended to ridicule anyone. I saw the chance to possibly help someone not experimenting correctly. Given the amount of information provided, what conclusion would you come to?

With the stun comp I'm making now, I can max the base and special on my stun layers...with 10 points. It's because I have crappy ore. Better has spawned, so I'll be having the same problem too. Nothing a couple more points won't cure though.

while more base % on stun would be nice, two percent more base or so on stun isn't worth 30+mil

Kinesthe was talking about using 3 different types of layers in composite but still keeping the base at 70 or so. This requires great resources, 12 expt points, and a littlecreativity. An example would be composite that is 80energy/80kinetic/80electric/10stun 70base...

PS I want lightsaber layers.

If you cannot get 80% Kinetic with 70% base then your materials are holding you back or your making the armor wrong, same with 80% enerby/Kinetic and 70% base its not hard to make, even with second best materials. The 4 specials that I showed a while back was using the best materials on my server, definately not a newb suit, but if thats what your wanting to make then you need to get the best materials before anything or those 2 extra points go to waste.

I just find it funny that new smiths go right after those 2 extra points before even considering spending the money on materials 1st. Hell make grinding armor 1st make that uber money thats what makes you the money anyways.

Ok my 2 cents spent
