Why do PSG take damage from attacks? Shouldn't it be more of a battery issue with a decay rate thrown over it?

its semantics.. the devs want them to be expensive and hard to make..
if the "belt" was a semi-permanent (high like armor durability) then they would make the batteries cost a small fortune in comps and have the same sort of recharge as the current PSGs in duration (it would only hold enough power for XX numbers of hits)

I am no armorsmith , but while slicing PSG 2day for someone and get enc slices( they have 0 enc and i sliced it for 40% enc :/ ), i thought they maby PSG should have a recharge stat so the 900cond they have should repair it self over time say 100 cond every 10 mins or somthing. So a smuggler could then slice it for inc regen rate or better res %, then let it have like 10 conduction as well so if the PSG drops down to 0% cond(on the regen stat)the PSG it self would take damage and lose some cond this would increase the amount of time taken for it to regen and lower it deffense the lower this cond got. Dont know if any one likes this idea but i thought it would make them a bit better :/ .

As an avid maker of them PSG's I don't like it, heh.
I say slice it up fer better resists but once it's done with it's done with. Disposable shields, that's what they are. My 2 cents. Peace

Well, I wouldn't mind if they lasted longer, ugh. I make and sell them too. I could specialize in them, and not worry about making enough to sell. However, I think we'd all get more requests for them if a) they fixed the vuln bug and BIG B) they lasted more than a single fight. Most people don't want to pay 15k for an item that will burn down in one fight.

I sell MK3's for 15k each, 60k for crate of 5 (one free) and 200k for crate of 20.

15k? I suppose if people do pay that much, then by all means, do so.
Personally I like to sell Mark III's for 3k, and market the "disposibility" of them. I use crap resources and stillget roughly30% energy resists. By comparing them to weaponpowerups Imake a killing.
Here's the really strange bit. Has anyone else noticed that as you get better PSGs, the durability goes down? Mark I's easily are the best in terms of long lasting PSGs, as they have over 1700 durability. Mark IIIs have 900 Durability. I can't help but think that maybe that is backwards.
A 20% experimented Mark Iwill last longer andbe more useful thana 30% Mark III. However, people go for the high resist over the high durability. I guess its the mentality that "Mark III means better", which is why everyone wants composite armor, and couldn't care less about Mabari. (I care about Mabari!)

Yes been forced to pay 20k(thats how much i have to pay)for somthing thats last about 5 mins, just makes me feel that they are worthless. Imight have to ask around and see if i can get the lower ones that last longer :/ .

But they don’t last longer. The lower the res., the more damage the shield takes, the faster it degrades.
I think 20k is way to high for a MK3 but 3k is right around my cost. I think 6-8k is fare. After all it take 7 factory runs to produce crates of MK3’s.

Our old armorsmith correspondant Styx proposed something similar. His idea was for the PSG's to have a condition stat similar to other armor, and then much smaller "shield strength stat. The hits would reduce the shield strength, and when it was gone you would have to wait for it to recharge. PSG's cost to much for how long they last. I think that would be a sweet idea, but I wish they would fix the shifting stats first. Good thinking on the recharge part though, I like it.

Yes, encum slices on psg is not funny. If they changed slicing so that a MS could choose stat, then...
