After finally gathering all the resources I need to really get into the swing of things and start getting armor made, I came across a problem that never occured to me. Factory numbers. I have 4 atm running full time, but to be honest I need about double that.
So for all you new AS's out there get alot of factories up. 1 run of layers takes about 45 hours, you need 3 layers per Advanced composit segment. Now to get the most out of your resources you'll want to make 3 runs of layers to get 999 Adv segments, and this will take you 73hours to complete. Now that 999 comp segments will make you 58.76 full suits or 247.75 Chestplates, 333 Pants, 333 helmets, 499.5 Boots, 999 gloves, 999 bracers, or 999 Bicepts. (have no idea how long those will take to run.
So what your looking at to get a good stock running as soon as possible is 13 wearables factories. 3 for layers, 1 for segments, and 9 for each of the pieces. This as far as I have seen is the fastest way to get into buisness.
Please chime in if you vets have any suggestions hear. Me personally I can more than handle this as I am a Master architect with plenty of resources to handle this order, and lots swaps and guild mates are my friends.

I have 8 factories, but I do some things that may help you as well. For each armor run, I make 3 runs of layers for each ACAS (so I can make close to 1000 ACAS from that run). I make 2 runs of ACAS's (that would be 6 layer runs). One ACAS schem for chest/helm/pants and one for all the other pieces. If you take the number of ACAS's each piece needs, that's a pretty balanced way of doing it (c/h/p = 10 ACAS's total, arms/boots/gloves = 11 ACAS's total). That will make me close to 100 full suits.
Also, once I've made about 100 or so of each layer, I pull those out, make my ACAS schems, and start those runs simultaneously. Just keep pulling out layers and throwing them in the ACAS factory run. A great way to maximize time.
Though with the armor bug, I mostly make chests/boots, slightly less gloves/helmets,very few bracers and almost no pants. That's the way the sales trends are going

yeah I've noticed that as well. I was thinking of makeing 3 boots/ chest/ helms to every 1 pants/ bracers/ bicepts., or do you think it should be more of a 2-1 ratio?

My sales ratio of the 4pc armor pieces to others is probably 30-1.

I run 4 factories full time. while one is cookin segs (which takes FOREVER!!
) i do 3pcs at a time of comp in the other 3. when suits done, i load synth cloth and reinf fiber panels (i minor in tailor for my own subs). then i get the next 3 layers cookin. seems to work out on the rotation pretty good. I can make usually 45 9pc comp sets or 90 4pc sets per run. any leftover segs i use to make spare parts.

Would you believe for the first 8 months of this game I ran my business with just ONE factory! And I made my own cloth and panels too!
I have 4 up ATM, and get along fine with it. One you get into a rythm of layers and segments you shouldnt have a problem. But its allways nice to have those extra ones. Get your friends or guildies to use their lots for your factories so you can keep yours for harvesters.

You will find that every week your armor improves, because you get a new attachment, some new aluminum you didn't have, maybe some ore from two months ago, etc. I was very conservative with my runs as a noob AS and I still have hundreds of now useless layers and segments. Then again I don't like to put anything but my best stuff on the vendor.
agreed small runs are best because your stock will be continually updating when better resources spawn or you purchase old resources that are better then what you have and especially as you start aquiring your 12 points.

I'd happily make a toon on your server for you if you want me to place factories for you, send me a pm or something if you want me too and i can meet you ingame. I ran into the same probably doing droid engineer, luckily i had 20 lots just on my one acct lol

a lot swap is your best bet once you find a good location to sell from. i found a nice smith from eclipse to trade lots with... we have an agreement to inform eachother if one of us is leaving the game.

I strongly recommend to any new AS's that you do NOT make large runs of stuff. You will find that every week your armor improves, because you get a new attachment, some new aluminum you didn't have, maybe some ore from two months ago, etc. I was very conservative with my runs as a noob AS and I stillhave hundreds of now useless layers and segments.
