Read the little part between the 2 suits of battle armor pics "Armorsmiths will be able to earn faction points to purchase faction armor schematics and craft them. "

Now ladies and gentlemen wipe the drool off the desk.

I hope this is truly the case. Adding craftable faction armor (that's actually better than comp.) would amp up the GCW and PvP part of this game immensely.

Finally! They released some information!

And yes, armor will be craftable =) So faction armor should be a bit more readily available and as competitive as their traditional varients.

Also to everyone, I suggest looking at the descriptions of each type of armor. Asault armor, battle armor, and recon armor. As it says in the report these types of armors will be benificial to certain types of profesions: "Different professions will be able to utilize different sets of armor to their advantage." Armor certs maybe? This friday feature tells us a lot more then that there will just be four new types of faction armor.

Also, recon armor: "This armor will be for fast paced movement and light combat skirmishes." which gives the hint that certain armors may effect movement speed, making certain armors benificial for certain classes depending on how much one needs to move around in combat.

further: "This is to make sure that all sets of armor are not only in the game and available for use, but also useful in both PvE and PvP combat" which gives the hint that all armor (not just faction armor) might be coming along in this fasion.

Just thought I would pull all the little tidbits out of the story you might have missed while you where drooling over the new armor models

Don't forget about some of the weapon tidbits that you can pick out. Like the numbers they used as a scenario suggests to me that weapons might be doing much higher damage then they were.
What does everyone think about the highest hindrance stat taking precedence?

These hindrances will not be able to be altered during the crafting process and will remain a fixed value on the armor to maintain an overall balance. This will enable us to envision what level of armor we see everyone wearing at a specific stage of their advancement. A player will take full set armor hindrances for wearing any piece of armor of a particular type and the highest hindrance stat will take precedence.

It looks like they want to make sure that if you put on an assault armor chest piece for instance you can't get a hindrance bonus for wearing battle armor for every other piece.

They didn't let armorsmiths craft faction armor from the get go because they wanted the FP system to actually do something, like used to buy stuff like armor. If they took the armor out of the FP system completely or almost completely that would defeat that original purpose of having the armor be a faction perk to begin with.

True True, but they also probably didn't anticipate is that it took so much faction points for the armor that it was just to darn expensive to wear in combat (not to mention far inferior to other armor types).

I actually think the armor looks really cool. I hope they have some more cool armor types in the works also.
