Depends on which types of composite you are making.

it would be easier if you gave us a final product......gloves perhaps?

dont spend the extra point on base go foe kinetic

something like

base 3% kinetic 9% and the rest of your points on encumbrance.

could make 80% kinetic 50% base with two layers and add janta hideor NS components to get even higher base.

Good for 75% kinetic ubese too.

And start saving for cloth skill tapes

when i triple layer i usually go for the magic 4/4 meaning you max Base and leave Kinetic alone..on the final Segments you can usually get to 35%base 12+ Kinetic...thats all ya need..

Of course resources play a large part in this so it may be easier to raise kinetic while shooting for a 60% base or some such

Depends what your resources will come out to for your final product. Looks like you are shooting for guaranteed decent kinetic resist so and not gambling on slice...

Basically you want to get the kinetic as low as possible while getting your base as high as possible and still hit 80% kinetic. You'll have to experiment (with gloves, so you don't need to factory run your segs).

Basically try doing all you experiments in base, with exception on one for kinetic. Try it out.. if you get 80% kinetic, bingo. If not repeat, but save two experiments for kinetic, etc.

Or you could do the calculations on your resources and figure it out that way.

I would go with what Dragon said. If you have top resources, then make your layers 4/4 & go for 80% kinetic & high base armor. My layers are 4/4 & they eventually go into 35% base segments which go into 71% base armor.

For triple layered composite kinetic, try getting your layers to 1/1/1 HAM, 2% base, 6% kinetic. Or 7% kinetic, 1.8% base or so. Should get you 80% kinetic comp with low HAM, a far superior armour to heavy kinetic.

Sorry, I meant to come back, but got buried.

I'm going for Kinetic comp, as my 1st attempt. I made 2 layers, 22% base 19 Kinetic 57% HAM and18%Base, 12 Kin 40 HAM. Did I mess up? I'm thinking I sjould have concentrated on HAM instead of Linetic on the Layers.

lecivius you are talking about 2 layered segments not the layers themselves in your post?

My 1st post was the layers I made up. Second post is about the 2 different segments I made using the afore mentioned Layers. I made 2 different segments using the same layer types. I'm trying to see if I'm on the right track, or if I have my head....in the wrong place.

From some of the responses, I'm thinking I should have done 4% Base, 4% Kinetic Layers, and put the rest to reduce HAM instead. Is that correct? The HAM seems pretty high atm.

the best way to judge your layers is by the final product

make us some gloves and then I will give you criticism if you want it

Depends on the usage. My customers are primarily heavy PvP'ers and high-level PvE players. If I made the armor you're describing they'd think I'd gone loco.
