More armor overally.
Having to choose from...basically a single armor source (composite) to do the 'Vette and DWB or even PvP anymore.
If you wanna know what I really want enhanced, click my name in my signature for what my guy wears in PvP. This needs enhanced armor bigtime.

Welcome to the Armorsmith boards.
Some of us are a bit concerned that armor will be less useful and perhaps less used after the rebalance. I for one think just about the entire rebalance can be achieved with changes to buffs rather than to armor, but that isn't a position I think the doctors favor.
Please check out the FS Crafting Solutions thread.

Storage.
Far and away, I would be much happier if there were a way to store the scores of resources and crates that we generate. I pretty much don't care how it's accomplished, but it's markedly unpleasant as is. Ideas: Higher item limits in houses, new buildings called warehouses, larger factory hoppers, specific 'resourceholders' that get placed in a house (similar to a vendor but just for storage), making items stored in the input hopper of a crafting station not count against a house's limit, ... anything.

Thank you Artisan's for your feedback. You have done a great job with providing me with the feedback I needed with little complaints. I know that this information has been asked a bazillion times from you and appreciate your patience with me regarding that.

Far and away the biggest issue with any crafters, and I'm speaking as the head of over 25 active crafters is the storage item issue. I and most other serious crafters have cross-server lot traded our life away to gain storage houses, factories and harvestors. With the coming account inactivity deletions we can no longer trust these cross-server trades. There is NO LEGIT OPTION to store the amount of materials needed to run an active business. Take DE for example, we have thousands of combinations for subcomponents many of them actuallyartisan related, this requires large factory runs of surplus items just to make a single run of droids. There is no easy in-game mechanism to manage these. I personally have 2 small houses, a medium and a large plus 6 factories, not because I need them all, but because I HAVE to have them just to store the items I'm temporarily generating, let alone those items I'm keeping.
A better method?
Let usincreaseeach houses item storage at the cost of extra maintenance. I don't care how you accomplish this, either through a storage item added or what. I would much prefer to own 1 house, that costs me more than my 4 currently do, just for the sake of my sanity trying to juggle running around my city. This could easily be accomplished as an architect item (shelving +50item storage + 4cr/hr maintenance)that when added to a house increases the maintenance per cycle.
Welcome to the community Tiggs, if I can pass on any bit of advice from a guy that has watched more than 50% of my guild leave for WOW beta who say they are happy and never coming back. SWG needs to SQUASH these silly management and time-sink nightmares. If you aren't seeing the cancelations yet, I promise you will be from my server at least, because people are tired of juggling requirements like lot limits and the grind. Over 1 year later its time for SWG to mature into a gaming experience not just a job. I would be more than willing to share personal access to our guild forums so you can get an idea of how my guild was lost to another game. Please PM me if you are interested in a good case study.

You are the first DEV to post in this board in many many months, so while its nice to finally get some intrest I'm disappointed (not at you) that it took this long. We need more communication, we are really flying blind here on a lot of things here.
P.S.

I have been an armorsmith for nearly a year now, And I would consider myself to be in the top 10% or so of our craft on Chili anyway, my point is, I have a long background and love of the class... That being said.
Faction Armor - Needs to be craftable, as a neutral I would of course not like to be limited to which faction I can make for, and personally think this would be a dis-service to the rest of the population, they would loose a variety of armorsmiths to choose from when buying faction armor .. that's not to say that I shouldn't have to pay for the schematics, either through cash donation (credits) or though faction points that I buy. Also, I would add a faction cost to buying the Armor, for example.. A ST armor chest will cost ya 40k AND 400 Faction xp to buy.. that faction xp goes to the Armorsmith, to help buy the next schematic.. And if your wearing Faction arnor, your overt baby. at the very min. your TEF'd
PSG's - I've made a couple of posts on these .. they are borked, and quite frankly i think they work the wrong way. My Idea: You can make a PSG with say 3-4 protections, you get to choose these during crafting. Condition should be high on these, say 40k condition .. BUT they require power .. power to have on, and LOTS of power when they get hit. So droid batteries will be in a much much greater demand. Say the condition takes 10% of the Dmg of whatever the shield eats .. I would let these generators get to be very high resists.. say about the same as composite now .. and make them only equipable if your wearing like padded armor or below, maybe even an encumbrance while wearing ANY armor with them. (and yes i want the little glowly shield effect when hit) .. This would encourage people to wear less/little to no armor.
Regional Armor - I've seen mentioned.. and I like the idea, would add more variety ..
Colors - Make ALL armors changable in colors as long as a master armorsmith is the one doing it.
JTLS - I think this is where the Armorsmith is gonna get to be obsolete, IF we arn't the ones making the ship armor and or Shields then we are gonna see about a 90% drop in our sales. I for one will live in space when it comes out, and i'm SURE that most people will finally be happy to see the STAR put back into STARWARS .. it also means we are out of business. so are the weaponsmiths for that matter.
Player Shops in Cities - This was hinted at before, and a reality in EQ2 .. The devs have stated that they didn't expect that mass exodous of people out of the main cities when player cities/housing was launched DDDUUUAAAAA!! ... now IF I could rent a shop in a major city, expecially a hub like coronet I would pay handsomly for it, and so would 500 other crafters, there would be malls overnight... I for one would pull up house/shop and head for the city .. It all has to do with the transportation .. nobody wants to travel for 20 min to get to a shop that might not have what you want. So you join a player city that has a shuttle, now it's only a 5 min wait to see if they don't have what you want .. If you were in a major city, it would only take them seconds after getting off the shuttle .. and you would get more traffic .. more traffic = more sales
Armor Repair Kits - wholy dissapointing .. I made some 100% repair kits a few months ago during the crafter revamp that was rolled back the next day .. It is still VERY COMMON to repair armor to a point that was lower than when you started.. for example, i had a suit of VERY nice 84-89% resist armor .. it had gotten beaten down to about 24k of 38k condition .. so i repaired it with my master armorsmith, in his shop, near a crafting station (Just to be SURE) .. all of the armor is now 17k condition .. LOWER than where it started from .. I OFFICIALLY CALL ARMOR REPAIR KITS BORKED .. let it be written, let it be so.
Lightsaber Resists - I would LOVE to see some master / elite professions bring some lightsaber resistant armor panels to me to put into armor, or at least something to resist force powers or drain force powers within a certain range. .. Make itso that his Trainer gives/ sells him the panels and make it so that the arnor can ONLY be worn by that player, and finally the armor must be destroyed before he can request more panels from the Trainer.

I would love word on what is up with lightsaber resists period. There has been so much conflicting DEV talk and bouncing resists that nobody knows what is going on.

I can only speak from my time as I was a master AS. Things that I dislike and would be nice if corrected:
- Colorize Composite should not be a ability of anyone. Maybe a "armor custimisation kit" could help.
- The armor should be "transformable" by the owner to a faction-style armor (Rebel marine armor with Composite stats would be nice)
- Bone, Tantel and Mabari armor take too many specific resources for the advanced ones. Too many for a less effect.
Greetings,
Krzl

I would like to ask when the rare loot drops for RIS armor will be fixed. In the mini patch just before publish 10,(I don't remember which number that was) there developed a glitch in the programmers coding of the RIS rare loot so that it would not register on the crafting tool as being there. I was in the of trying to get my last quest finished when this happened. There was CSR, Tim V. trying to help me, but he told me that even the loot he was 'calling up' was bugged. The last I heard from him, he didn't know when it would be fixed. I recently sent a message to the CSRs and they replied to ask one of you developers on the forum here about it. I'm hoping you can tell me some about this.
I'm still hanging in limbo not able to become a RIS Smith. Thanks for looking into this for me.

I was a master artisan but decided to drop all but the Domestic arts line since i am a Tailor. I love fireworks and used to own a shop. My customers biggest complant was the inablity to launch the show packages when they wanted to. Because of this bug my store went under.
I fell that Artisan needs few repairs and is a well rounded proffession that needs few changes. Except for the Requirement of Master to get the parts for Architect (Which was my first Master in SWG) and DE. Also the fireworks show packages need to be looked at. As a small fix that should be easly changed there are 8 types of fireworks, 4 have descriptions of there effects "Shooting Star", however 4 only have "Type 4 effect" as a description. How about fixing the other two also as a quick fix new publish or so.

I'm sorry to keep posting...but there is one thing I didn't mention.
For some reason we armorsmiths don't get a crafting apron. As someone who doesn't have 12 points yet, I think it would be really great if our profession had one too.
