Alot of AS seem to forget Bone armor. Cheap, weak armor that CAN be fairly decent. and..OH NO!!!! NERF IT! A TAILOR CAN MAKE IT!!!!!!!!!

Get over it man. I for one am GLAD the tailors got this schematic. But..I'm NOT glad it's only used by armorsmiths. And before you all start screaming, I'm an AARMORSMITH, my friend does the tailoring. Not me. So I'm not a tailor trying to swipe business.

From an economic standpoint... tailors and wookies have always worked closely. Wookie's hunting bonuses and such, and scout related skill bonuses, and tailors providing the gear. So... the devs were likely trying to keep that close relationship, since wookies are a huge part of the tailor business. Now...as a trade off to keep the playing field level, I propose this same padding be used in MORE items.

No I don't have a freakin sig. Just make something up and pretend it's here man. woman. umm...Whatever.

First of all, I think thearmor is great.

I don't mind that we crafters are dependent upon each other for certain things. But the problem I see with having the padded segments made by tailors is the experimentation that needs to be done, as someone pointed out earlier. The best experimented segments will come from a master tailor because of this. Field Wear 3 will become mute as anyone that has to purchase a schematic will seek out the master tailor and hope they are up to taking the time to make the best schematic they can. This isn't like synthetic cloth that doesn't need experimentation or any stats on the resources to make it.

I have3 suggestions. 1 - Make the padded segmentmade only by master tailors for the experimentation purpose, and hope. 2 - Give the armorsmith the ability to experiment on a piece that would be given to the tailor to combine into the schematic. 3 - Give the armorsmith the ability to add a piece to the padded segments (that are needed for a particular piece of armor) and be able to experiment on that.

I hope this made sense asit has been a long night and I am ready for sleep. Oh and I noticed that a couple of players that I know are master tailors had changed their titles. I wonder how many tells and emails they must've gotten.

Segments

Using Garbage Endorian Wood, Ok Yavin Leather
15%Kinetic
5%base

Padding Segemnt
3%Base
6/7/6 HAMs

Suit Results
I am also using Higher end materials in the suits after segements are being made..
Making two versons, Kinetic seems to sell the best
45% Kinetic Resitance Average,
20% Base

Well rounded Suit
36%kinetic
26% base and after slices Even better

Did really well yesterday..... and I still have more orders to fill today...

So Far as for colors
the Dark Rust Red, Black, and Greens seem to look the best, did some blues and whites.... Talk about wicker basker for the white armor... Yellow did not look bad (kind of like a Gold color) I will probably use that color as a Production Color once a Better endorian Wood shifts in...

I did not worry about a single ham Cost on the suits, and It still came out to some thing like 274/283/220 HAMs, Completley acceptable by wookiee stats...

Oh and they fixed the stat shifting bug on monday before they pushed the code out to live...

The model for the chest piece includes a hood and I had to remove my sage hood to wear it. Also clearly stated in the decription is that it is largely ceremonial. Ceremonial = Bone armor level of armor. Most of my resists are under 35% but going from no resists to this I am happy. Of course it will be returned to the guild armory as soon as they put the Hunting Armor in which of course will go on display in my shop as soon as they add Composite level wookie armor

As a tailor, I amtotally PO'ed about the way the dev's are doing this new wookiee armor.

I have outfitted a huge amount of wookiees since the game came out. I have loyal wookiee customers.

Armor comes out and now its handed over to armorsmiths (even though there is alreadywookiee battle padding and wookiee crested battle padding in the tailor tree) so now I will lose wookiee customers to armorsmiths and will need to make stupid armor segments to help the very armorsmiths who are stealing my customers?

Any of you armorsmiths see the tailor nerf here or is it just me.

By the way most tailors are opposed to making more componants. Our profession is turning into a supplier profession instead of a true profession. We must be the biggest supply oriented profession in the entire galaxy. I for one am sick of it. At least with trim, syn cloth and rfp it's something we use anyways. Armor segments are something we would only make for armorsmiths... it's retarded.

I love that wookiees are getting armor, but why the heck should we tailors help armorsmiths who will take our wookiee clients from us? To me it hurts and is a slap in the face to me and my profession.

I don't see that adding game content = tailor nerf. And quite frankly I'm not thrilled about the padding either, shouldn't even need you stupid tailors at all. And you don't like that either, it should be moved into the armorsmith stuff

Ok there have been a few tidbits of USEFUL info out of the storm of crap concerning tailors.

As someone who USES armor & doesn't MAKE it, someone who knows please assume 0 crafting fiddly arcane knowledge on my part & answer a real simple end-user PRACTICAL question or two.I wanna help my all-wookiee guild stock up on the best armor we can (so no "basic" anything for components if it can be avoided), AND get a good suit made for myself. I have been collecting the Yavin Hides & good Wooly Hides. I will be attempting to get the Endorian Wood today (anyone on Lowca sell decent medium harvesters?).

I have 6 Krayt Scales & limitless Voritor scales. My questions are: does using the Yaving hide at every chance matter, or should I find other, better OQ hides to use, then use the Yavin stuff only where specifically needed (to save Yavin hides)? AND CAN I USE THE KRAYT or VORITOR SCALES? If so, can I have all 6 thrown in there for my suit? Would that be wise? Or is it more economical to just spread them out amongst a few suits & make myself some spares? Pile it on or spread it out? Thanks to anyone who can actually answer this. It should be clearcut in-the-FAQ's type stuff, but this is SOE...

Use the Endorian wood and Yavin leathery hides ALWAYS if you want your armor above 30%

Use your krayt scales for the chest piece and all your voritors for arms/legs.

You will need 5 identical krayt scales for the chest and 3 identical for each arm and 4 identical for each leg.

*remember armorsmithing hides need OQ+SR for good resists*

The endorian wood and Yavin hide are only requiredfor the advanced segments. You can use other stuff in the areas that don't require specific resources.

The armor segments must be identical for each piece of armor. If you use enhancements, you're going to have to make schematics for each set and run them in a factory. This means using enhancements with the sam serial number.

Ok being an ex armorsmith i understand the segment serial numbers and stuff. My problem still comes into what kinda materials? Ok avanced specials are only yavin leathery and endorian wood. got that but what are the minerals. they arent specific so its it any metal? or fiberplast? or inertpetro chem? and how much of each? I am only intrested so I can make sure I got the right materials to rpovide for a few custom made ses with enhancemnts. Also what enhancement can be used?

I'm a tailor and i'm trying to figure out a couple of things about these padding segments.

1. How many does it take to do a set of armor? Someone told me it takes 50 padsbut that seems a little high.

2. Are you after a good base effectivness? or lower encumb?

3. What do you expect to pay for padding? I have no clue on this as its the first experimentable item in the tailor menu. In Scylla, I am currently charging 11k per crate for 3% base 236 5/6/5 padding. That just covers the price I had to pay for some fair quality resources and factory maint with 2 cpu in profit.

1) 5 Similar Padding segments... so 500 would produce 100 full suits

2) Good Base Effectiveness.. Honestly in the world of 3K buffs and wookiee extra hams, a diffrence of 1 or 2 pts is not a big deal on the HAMs

3)Depends on the server... I payed a Talior 100k just to use my materials to make me a schematic...
If I am going to buy crates of them I dont want to buy 2 crates of 25 for 50k a pop like I am seeing on Eclipse... So If your getting 11k great keep on getting it... Make your money back it cost to get the resources...

i have used 4 types of wood so far

deciduous hardwood from endor stats pretty weak 600 oq less on everything else

" ""corellia 734 oqbut overall higher stats than the endorian wood

" ""tatooine947oqsignificantly higher stats across theboard than any of the others, by the way i've now got about 100k of this stuff if anybody wants some send me a tell on valcyn

evergreen soft wood from i forget oq was in the 800's

quality and typesof wood have so far had absolutely noeffect on my end product, is this a bug?

the tailor made armor padding i've used both 3% and 4% effective, and with this i have noticed an improvement in the non kinetic protections

On a side note i come to this thread for input on techniques for improving my armor most specifically wookiee armor. This thread is now too cluttered with argument and complaints, save your complaints for the other thread. You know the one that says things we need fixed, and the one that says things we want changed. thx for the curtesy i appreciate it.
