Since this thread is absolutely hilarious, it deserves to be bummed. I mean bumped.

Customer: Can you make good armor?
I think: (No, I make crap armor. Want to buy some?)
I say: Sure. What are you looking for?
Customer: What is the best armor in the game?
I think: Oh no. Not again.
I say:Well, you can only wear armor based on your profession.
... I find out his profession la da de da ...
Isay: I would just buy the regularrecon armor and wait until faction armor is fixed to buy layered since it has more condition.
Customer: Ok, how much is regular recon?
I say: It's 300k
Customer: Is that the best in the game?
I think: I thought we just went over this.
I say: It is regular armor, I have seen layered armor go for 2 million on this server.
Customer: Hmm, how much can I get for 60k?
I think: You can get beat down for 60k.
I say: You can get a pair of leggings or a helmet.
Here's one of my more tenacious ones from yesterday:
nub: I need to trade in this suit of armor.
me: I don't take trades for armor, someone's used armor is worthless to me.
nub: I need some new stuff
me: I'm sending you a wp to my vendor
nub: so, can you meet me there to trade in my armor
me: I told you, I don't do trades for used armor
nub: but you can sell it again
me: no, no one will buy it. It's used. Condition is probably horrible and I don't even want to know what the resists are. I don't take used armor, period.
nub: but it's good armor

Ha! My first posting! woot!
This thread is GREAT!! Learned a bit of a bit.....I'm a respec AS (was working my way up...said hell with it..tada!!Master!)
Anyway........these stories are awesome...I haven't encountered these Uber Noobs.....yet. One thing I do have to say is.......when yer runnin' around and you happen to see someone run by, specifically wearing YOUR armour, it is a bit of a rush! IMHO
I did stop wearing the AS tag tho......too many people randomly asking about armour......tis hard to answer 4/5 differnet /tells!!!
Currently I do ONLY custom orders...or I spam out a few sets for my vendor.......people will buy almost anything!!! hehehehe!
Kudos to you all....it takes a lot to be a skilled AS.......I will one day be in your compnay! ![]()

This is our thread to gripe in. The weaponsmiths have one. The smugglers have one. Even the merchants have one! We have one. We get to vent here and blow off a little steam without hurting anyone. Leave us be.

Sure thing Caile, as long as YOU promise to think as a customer not as an armorsmith in return for us doing it. Dont give one-sided advice and expect anyone to follow it.
Wow Everitt you are really sore arent you ![]()
Look chap, no hard feelings here but I personally sometimes get a bit fed up with folks taking crafters or anyone else for that matter for granted. After all we are all just playing a game here, trying to have fun. It seems to me sometimes that some folks think their fun is more important than someone elses.
I get lots ofstuff tells/emails every day that I sometimes find trying, whenI do so,I normally go afk with my armorsmith and play my BH ![]()

Pyke,
If you don't see the truth of the complexity of armorsmithing as it is and how totally bewildering it is to non-armorsmiths, then you will never see how tough it is for a customer to come talk to an AS.
I understand how frustrating the totally clueless person is to deal with. I had more than my share of slicing customers when I was a smuggler that would ask me the most amazing things. I am not talking about that. However, I see a lot of complaints about customers asking for things that don't fit within the current structure of how to make armor. I know you are all frustrated and I am frustrated for you. I am frustrated as a customer. I have an Ithorian MBH/MR that would love a new set of Itho sentinel assault armor and I am having one heck of a time finding an AS to make me some more. Our guild AS was so put off by the post CU AS system that he quit the game. The others that I have contacted only work by order and so far all of them have asked me to provide the cores.
I understand you need to blow off steam, but if you think you are frustrated, go talk to your customers.

All I'm saying is this isn't really the post for this type of discussion. Here we can mock, point fingers, and make fun. It's all anonymous, and it's an inside joke for this profession to enjoy. We've got tons of threads devoted to the mysteries of armor crafting. This one's just for us.
I, too, don't see what's so special about a suit of Ith armor that makes it so hard to come by. Same thing with wook armor. Shouldn't be all that tough to get a suit. But it's not my server.
