Hmm,
I can only think that they have not updated the RIS quest yet then or maybe the segment you make for the quest is not what you end up using in the skin schematics you get aftermaking the boots. I am very confused now
I was sure that they said all armors would use the same cores. I expected the skin schematics of RIS and Mando to have extra loot slots on them in addition to the appearance ones to take the GDK, bone and hide and the mando loot requirements. My other thought was that they might just end up using just the GDK as a RIS loot drop in the skin and change the gurk hide and bone frag to have other useful properties to be used and segment and core enhancers in all armors.
Maybe they just havent finished tidying these loose ends up?
If it stays like it is and you want to make a suit of adv core RIS then thats 21 gdk's, hides and bone frags you need post CU
oops.

They had to have changed it at least somewhat since this is the first quest given out. As I remember the first was for a RIs layer on live.

Ahh my bad, it's been long enough I couldnt remember. Either way they did add a GDK scale to the segmentso it had to be touched a little.

Maybe this is just the suspicious/skeptic in me but I probably wouldn't recommend going out and buying new CUresourses from TC-5 posts. I dunno...its too easy...watch they will change resourses....thus test center. Hate to burst your bubble but, everything else about this CU has been Top Secret. Why would they allow schematic leaks to hit the forum?
You are prob right. I'm guessing that at least half the named resources will be eliminated, but we won't know which ones till it hits live. I've taken the stance of "better safe than sorry". I could always resell the resources I've been gathering and not be out any credits. I want to be able to make armor as soon as the CU hits love.

Since the CU went to test, nothing about it has been top secret (except, of course, any changes they haven't put on TC yet). Still, I agree that it's probably too early to start buying resources yet. They've got three weeks still, and a lot of things can still change. And resource requirements would be one of the easiest things for them to change. I'm holding off until it looks certain what the new resources will be.

Energy
20 ferrous metal
12 polymer
10 plexite amorphous gemstone
14 alantium siliclastic ore<------supposed to be Carbonite Ore maybe?
I dont see any of that type listed on Swgcraft.
It better not be a new resource.

Well I have gone out and spent the credits and bought enough to get started. Spent about3 million and typically picked stuff up for between 2-3cpu. I moved pretty fast as soon as I saw the new requirements dribbling out using the new vendor search option together with swgcrafts find resource to make sure I got server 1st or 2nd best. All of my other resources are 1st or 2nd best anyway
. Only things I haven't got 1st/2nd best of new stuff are plexite (3rd best) and naboo bristley, enough for one adv suit, 5th best
I agree with Ummon, better safe than sorry, if they change things again then it will be to drop some of the named ones and go with generics so I should still be fine.
What worries me more is the new level system and its implications. When the CU hits live I should be able to make pretty much the best stuff possible, will take me awhile to do it though given the new manufacturing times
but it sounds like its going to be all moot anyway because if someone wears one of my suits its not going to save them if they take on something a few levels above them.
Basically, my game plan is looking like:
1. Make one of each suit - best I can to join myold suitsin the private collection, use up my resource crates to make sure its as good as it can be.
2. Make a couple of runs of high kinetic recon, battle, asst and see if it sells.
3. Stick around for a month and see how nerfed my ranger/tka is and generally hang out with friends
4. Decide what to do
go pure combat, go weaponsmith, ebay my accounts
5. Find a new online universe to play in that actually challenges me the way swg used to

I cant believe that my 2 years of collections millions of units of the best resources will be pointless after CU. If these new resource changes stay without other non armorsmith professions resources being changes I will be done with crafting Armor crafting the day CU launches
It feels like all our hard work is being nerfed and that is killing my enjoyment to log on to play anymore. I will most likely swich to my Combat toon and make just enough Armor for my personal use. I cant see why they need to change the required resources for the current layers we craft at this time.
DEVS please dont make a mistake and make what is suppose to be a game not fun anymore. I dont see these changes being very positive for the future of this game.
