Many months ago, there was a really good Lokian herb meat spawn. It was back in those halcyon pre-cu days, when you could skip the mission terms and just go hunting. I ended up gettingquite a bitof herb meat, and all of it from gurks. Anyway, I came across a fair number of gurk kings during that hunt, and some of them popped out of lairs that had no feral gurks in them at all.

We did fine as long as I didn't actually loot. I have horrible looting luck, especially on GDKs (I've looted well over 50 now and have never found a single GDK scale).

and GDK also spawn in groups of 3 or so around the volcano on lok. they can be as far from the POI as 1500 meters. i have had much more luck killing these cause there are few, if any people, around here. But i have noticed that the drop rate on the scales are about one stack every 7-9 kills. so be prepared to have alot of soloing or some grouping in your future

heh, I actually had great luck getting the scales...as long as lythender wasn't around.
I killed about 10, 3 dropped scales.
