I charge between 1K and 5K per armor repair.

1K for anyone who is a customer (easy to tell, you either recognize their name or see your name as the creator fo thier armor).

5K for anyone else who asks.

I will be competitive if they ask (negotiate to 3K or other repairers in the area).

The point is, I will do it for free if necessary if I think it will build future business.

ANYONE who does not think armor repair is worth it is on drugs and you should do whatever you have to in order to get them as a customer .. they will be an easy mark (new suit every few days).

AS have no bonus to repair armor over any one else. The success of the repair is completely dependant on the quality of the repair tool and luck. I simply inform people of the facts when they ask me, so they dont waste their money chasing down AS to do something uneccessary. Usually this honesty will go further in creating new customers then misleading people.

AUks quality in slicing definitively does not matter. I have tested myself with 1% aujs and 98% auks....very similair results

You can give your own AUKs to someone slicing for you; most slicers will have them. I've seen much debate on whether quality matters on repair kits. It has been confirmed by the smuggler correspondent that quality does NOT effect slicing results, and my own experience suggests that quality does not matter on repair kits, either. Your experience level DOES matter--anyone know how much? I'd be interested in any data people have on that.

Repair skill tapes also supposedly help, but again, I'd like to see data on exactly what each +1 repair does to the end result.

Whether or not quality on repair kits matters, people still want the illusion of better odds on a repair. Since it's pretty easy to get 99% or better on the kits, why not?

As to what you should charge--charge what you think your time is worth and to cover the minimal cost of your kits. I'll repair armor pieces people buy from me for free on request, as do many armorsmiths.

I've built myself up to +18 to armour repair but can't really say whether this works correctly or not. Honestly, the results are so random that I can't distinguish.

One thing does matter one hell of a lot though. You should have NO battle fatigue when repairing items. If you don't believe me try repairing with a high amount of BF, destroy, destroy, destroy, destroy, give up.

One thing everyone should keep in mind is repairing sliced items vs unsliced items. The latter will have far more success (even with no repair bonus tapes) than the former. Even with repair tapes and 100.0 rating tools, a sliced item is less likely to yield a positive repair result.

I tested repair with my MAS and +15 armorrepair and a non-AS with no armor repair. Big difference.

It is probably the tapes, but I wrecked a lot less armor with the MAS.

In my experience, even with FS repair, as a MAS, I am still breaking roughly 1/10 pieces...using 99.9% repair tools...The only in-game mechanic that seems to affect repair are skill tapes...

I REALLY wish that armor repair would be addressed by the devs. This is a ridiculous bug that has been live too long.

I use 99% kits and have brokenabout 8out of about 1,500+ repairs. Even a repair at 7 condition pre-CU

Only one chest repaired post CU and it all seems to be working as normal. Personally I would rather see memory leaks fixed and despawning mods fixed then have them devote time to "fixing" repairs. I'd be more afraid of the fix then the current condition of repairing. Be careful what you wish for...........

Iwanted to repair a piece of broken armor (condition 0) so I bought a 97 functionality rating tool but I couldn't fix the armor (it just got worse). I asked a master armorsmith if he could do it but he said that he uses the same tool and has no bonus to using it. However, i have noticed that there are skill tapes out there that improve armor repair skill so is what the armorsmith saidright?

Is it just impossaible to fix a condition 0 item? I thought to repair my existing other armor itemsso that theydon't decay so muchnext time I have to clone but I'm worried about breaking them.

When an item gets to 0 condition it's in practice destroyed, you must repair it before you get to 0 cond (same as with bikes).

pre-cu i've repaired weapons/armor with 99+ tools, with fair success(very few broken/marginals)

post cu i'm 13 marginals, 2 broken out of 15 repair attempts with the same tools. this is from a non armor/weapon smith character.

armor is degrading far too fast, and coupled with excessive marginal repairs, the pieces only last a couple good days before needing replacement.

Well I've got no FS mods and no repair tapes. Yet I've managed to reapair just as well on my other non AS toons as with my MAS. Hell my non as toons have gotten up to 13 repairs in a row on a suit in one instance. By the time I was done with the armor the max condition was only 4k
