It looks like almost every thing I have a complaint about is being brough up, hope some get fixed/implemented. Great job here.

My number one complaint is the hard-capped limits. While experimenting, I see no differences with an amazing success as I do with great success if my resources are all of the highest quality. I can use less and get the same stats. This is a huge problem IMHO.

Second complaint is the very high failure rate (which is not just critical failures, but anything less than great). It would not be so bad if the amazing success rates happened more to offset them. And I am not talking a huge 'let's make it easy' bump here. Kick the chance of amazing success on experimentation and assembly up by one percent and I bet it would be tolerable, yet still hard to achieve.

Other issues in order:

colors of composite: why can we not get 2 color tables? having to have always a black base is crazy.

ham costs: when experimenting there is a very small, not even worthwhile adjustment. I ignore this completely when making armor except for the Helmet and Chest

Ackwardness of selling armor sets, especially after slicing them before sale. How about a new station of some sort that you can place all pieces in and press a button to have it sort the pieces into sets based on HAMS eveness, Resists eveness, or Hams and Resists Averages eveness, so we can then pluck 9 pieces in order, drop in a backpack and place on vendor?

I don't know if this has been addressed, but I don't like the idea of allowing us to be able to craft the cloth items we require. I do not mind paying a Tailor for them.

Here are some numbers I just finished with in game

Crafting a full set of composite:

Number of pieces with great or amazing assy: 8

Number of pieces critical fail assy: 3

Number of pieces with experiment below great: 4 (2 were chest plates!)

I admit it has been some time since I was in school, but by my calculations:

Failure rate: 7/15 = 46.67%

Utterly pathetic for a Master Armorsmith!

Now, here is the angle I'm sure they devs see it from:

With factories, there are no mistakes (forgiving the shifting bugs, etc), so each piece comes out perfect.

So, you have to create, experiment to make the best you can then choose 'make schematic'

Now you have a perfect schematic, all the rest of your pieces in factory are made just like it. And you no doubt experienced alot of problems getting it!

But, what of the Armorsmith that is low on materials, doesn't own a factory (could happen!), needs a set for a custom order and no desire to use schematics?

Should we not be able to make the set with a better rate than a 46% failure?

Solution: Make the Armorsmith (in fact all crafters) choose 'create object' or 'make schematic' BEFORE adding resources.

Consider the fact that to make a schematic, you have an extra step involved. This being that for both the create object and schematic you must make a set of armor. To get the schematic requires more action on your part. As such, I would accept a higher failure rate on making schematics.

Works for me, what do you think?

What I would like to see is a greater variety of armor. For instance padded could work a bit like modern kevlar, with the possibility to add and remove extra (ceramic) plates for different kinds of protection depending on the situation. If this was to be implemented you will finaly see some more non-composite wearing people around as well. This could probably work a bit like powerups work for weapons.

I also like SovereignProtector's idea of powered armor. Make droid engineers make the exoskeleton and combine it into the armor as a segment enchancer for instance.

Also, haveing different colorpatterns (stripes, wave, dots and so on) to choose from would not be hard to implement, while still bringing alot more variety onto the market.

Only Problem with Threads like this here is that NO DEV looks at them !!

How long the Bugs on PSG and Tantel exists ?

Hey cool a new Armor (RIS) and what we got ? WOW a new Statshift piece of **edit** !

The new PSG ! and what we got ? WOW a new Statshift piece of **edit** !

Slowly i dont believe any longer in SOE !

Hi, i'm a novice armorsmith on the Starsider server and all these things are great but i want to add some cosmetic things to this state of the armorsmith address.

1. armor molding (let a armorsmith creat armors with spikes etc.) (let these need more resources though)

2. letting armorsmiths add their own logo/graphic on their armor

3. MORE ARMOR SCHEMATICS i just started this professtion and was amazed at how few schematics for armor there was!

Thanks, Deusx Machina on Starsider server

I think you should be able to add special protection layers in all Advanced Armor sections. Mostly Bone, Armorweave and Chitin.

I just wanted to say that we ought to consider suggesting proffession oriented armor to the devs. For example an armor that is best if used by pikeman, or Taras Kasi Masters, etc. I'm still working on the 2nd tech on armorsmith so I have a long ways to go.

I have an idea along these lines. How abouta handmade piece of armorwouldhave a reduced HAM cost by say 20% or increase the resists by 20% due to the armorsmith adjusting the fit by hand. Versus a factory run that would create the same cookie cutter version for everyone and would not benfit from "fitting".

This of course would improve the value of looted segments, layers, etc.. The percentages could also bebased on the type of armor. Say,Ubese can be "fitted" easier than Composite. Also, this "fitting" skill would be gained at Novice. This would give the aspiring Armorsmith a chance to gain some Market presence if they were to make their armor by hand (Which is required if you want to gain experience anyway) and followed the right path to Master. A Master armorsmith would be way too busy to make armor by hand, unless it is a special order.

- Add a layer slot to lower level advanced segments (mabari, chitin...)

I agree that layers are needed for lower level segments.

But not just for advanced segments and not only one.

It is kind of sad to see that the only types of armor that is really used is Ubese and Composite. The other kinds are only used by people that cant afford the others.

By adding 3 layers to all kinds of armor segments (like composite) the lower level armors would be revitalized making them useful for a lot longer.

The lower level armors would still have fewer basic resists and a lower base rating so the Composite would still be stronger, but now at least it would make sense to look into the layers tree early in the life of an armorsmith. Instead as now where the layer tree is basically just a boring long grind to reach Master and Composite. Layering is creative fun... why should only Masters have all the fun?

It would also make PvP more fun... instead of everybody having to wear Composite... it would now be possible to wear a Ubese layered with some energy. The fights would be more interesting, having the opponent guessing about the vulnabilities of the armor instead of like now...
