Basically, a 10 year old Jango Fett was saved from a group of Mandalorians led by a man called Vizsla(nasty types) by Jaster Mareel and his crew (the cool, good types), although Jango's entire family was killed in the fight.

Jaster, Jango and the rest of the (good) Mandalorians later took an unrelated mission, and were ambushed by Vizsla, and Jaster was killed. Jango then took on the mantle of the leader of the Mandalorians. Then, Vizsla framed the rest of Jango's group with the help of the governor of the planet Galidraan, and the Jedi came to arrest them all. The resulting massacre left Jango's entire group dead, and only half the Jedi were left, as Jango took them on and killed many Jedi, single handedly. Jango was arrested, and sold to slavers, but he escaped, and went back to Galidraan to find out where Vizsla was. He found a suit of Mandalorian armour that the governor of Galidraan had restored, and stole it back. He then found Vizsla, and killed him (with the help of a pack of Dire-Cats).

Then Dooku hired him, and the rest... is history.

Yeah, it's 12 per server. Read the comic on how Jango became a Mandalorian and all, good story (amazing artwork too). My point still stands about the Mandalorian armor per server though. Yes, it makes it that much more cherished, elusive, prized, and whatever else, but what about those that joined the game late and have a much lessened chance than the experienced BH's and whoever else can wear the Mandalorian armor? Seems a bit unfair if they can't afford to upgrade, or if they don't have access to the game yet for some reason. Ah well, guess I'm sympathizing too much really. I wonder how they'll "dispense" it out. They can't have it could have it come in pieces type thing, but that would be sorta hard to keep track of how many sets, etc. Maybe you get the whole suit in on big set of missions or something, and the NPC that gives those missions despawns after it's been done 12 times or something. Any thoughts?

I wasn't talking about BOBA I was talking about Jango Fett, his clone father.

Boba Fett has less armor on him overall and more rags plus a stupid cape and kind of a greenish hue.

Jango has armor that looks exactly like Composite Armor with a grey metallic kind of hue and just real real real real close resemblence of the episode 2 armor he wore so I'm thinking that Composite=Mandalorian (early) and personally I think it looks better than the greenish later Mandalorian armor.

I think if anyone found any of those 12 sets, or at least if i did, I knew what I would do with it. Treat it like brand new basketball shoes and never play basketball in them. I would just flash it if I wanted to show off but would barely ever fight in it.

I suspect the number of mandalorians and their armor dwindled quite a bit over the millenia. While its true that the mandalorians waged war on a grand scale 4000 years past, they also lost. With their numbers culled and defeated, most references to them seem to be significantly less coherent than the army referred to in the Mandalorian wars. Hence, the idea of the armor having become exceedingly rare in the SWG timeline doesn't seem all that farfetched. The craft of producing it could very well have been a lost art over the millenia that have passed since the mandalorian wars. The other thing that should be pointed out is the rather dated nature of the armor. Its positively superb armor given the time period its coming from, but by comparison the current models of armor used by the Empire offer better protection. If there is a reason the Fett armor is so good, its because both Jango and Boba modified it from its original design VERY extensively, adding the weaponry and undoubtedly other forms of enhancement. How will it be distributed in game?

I have absolutely no idea.

Shady is correct - Boba doesnt wear the thickest mandalorian armor he could - he is wearing more clothing than armor - If you notice, boba's legs are hardly even covered, and this is because Boba Fett has bad knees, he talks about them alot in some of the EU books.

The comic's with Jango Fett in them would lead you to believe that mandalorian armor was weaker than it is, and the movies would lead you to believe that its stronger than it is.

Its suprisingly not very protective at all - but it is far more protective than any of the other armor availible - The key advantage to mandalorian armor is not the ability to take 50000 blaster shots - its how technologically advanced the suit is - the helmet alone allows the wearer to see in a 360 degree angle around him at ALL times, that being the biggest advantage - there are SEVERAL other advantages to the armor - The suit has built in chambers filled with toxic gass that can be released by a voice command - very helpful for knocking out an enitre cantina full of people

Anyways back to the armors damage resistance - In one of the EU books with Boba Fett in it, he talks about his past encounters with Han Solo, one encounter where han outsmarted him and shot him in the chest ONCE with his blaster pistol - That one shot turned his breastplate red hot, and he had to rip it off and throw it on the floor to let it cool.

And I see alot of you saying you dont want to be a Boba Fett wannabe - Well, being a huge fan of Boba Fett isnt all about wearing the armor - The armor signifies him as Boba Fett only to those who know nothing more than "Hey, doesnt he wear that cool armor?".

In many occassions in the EU books, Boba has to hunt bounties wearing clothing - And in one he hunted a bounty by laying in the mud in his boxers and a tank top with a STONE knife to avoid detection.

Hmm, if it isn't that good why bother going for it really. I suppose it'd just be neat to have a set of it outta 12 sets on your server. But collectors value is the only real reason for it if what you say is true.

The way I understand it, Mandalorian armor is acquired through a quest. Not all people can get this, only Bounty Hunters, and very rarely. No idea outside of this basic information where the quest is. I assumed originally it was in Jabba's Palace, but it may not be, would be too easy if you think about it.

Also, I believe the total number offull suitsof Mandalorian is limited per each server, so only so many will be generated. If it is, I would assume, and hope, that it doesn't ever wear out for one thing, and has very light encumberance.

Oops, that last reply from me was for Owen, not you Boba. Ok, so the armor itself ranges in defenses aparantly, but is less strong than shown in the movies. I remember hearing somewhere (possibly KotOR) that the armor allowed for re-entry into the atmosphere. So obviously the stuff has high heat resistance. This was the old Mandalorian armor of course, full-faced, not like the helmet you see with Boba and Jango now.

The mandalorian armor that Boba wears IS NOT his fathers. It says in the books that Boba wears Jaster Mereel's armor. And even went by that name for some time, hence why you saw it in 'Tales of bounty hunters'.

Also, there were still many mandalorians in the tme period between episode 1-6,but only a few were famous: Montross, Jango, Boba, Fenn, Tobbiand so on. These few and some others wore the amor. But not all of them wore it. I'm betting there were still millions of non-combatants on the planet Mandalore and only the elitesreceived the armor.

And it is supposed to be only 12 sets of armor per server. and i would do anything for it. If i had a choice of 4 premade master jedi characters or the armor, i'd choose the armor. I'm also a mandalorian wannabe.

And one more important fact that everyone should know: On the planet Maryx Minor, Boba Fett fought Vader 1v1 for a cask. Vader barely won the fight. Which shows people just how dangerous Boba was. I could go on about how Boba lost his spaceships many times and gotthem all the wayto the name Slave 4, but i wont.

Yeah Wepps, it's limited to 12 per server, heared that a lot. I'm sure it has a very very slow decay rate, if one at all. I'm not sure it's actually in-game yet at all, the test server thing said they were going to implement legendary/rare items soon, probably meaning Mandalorian for one, and who knows what else. I've also heared that Boba Fett himself will hunt you down if you get the armor, but I dunno. I can sorta picture him going outta his way to acquire the armor for his own private stash to keep it rare, but I guess we'll see. This would make it so that Jabba's Palace is the place you DON'T wanna be after you get it, and more than likely not the place you start it (unless you of course kill Boba......but the guy survives a Sarlacc pit in a few years....good luck).
