Is perma death coming back anytime soon? They did say it would come back after a while; that this jedi death system was only temp, guess they changed their minds.
Perma death would probably solve half the jedi problems there are right now. ill probably get flamed by all the jedis coming onto this board but just thought i would ask about this.

why should it be both ways? first off we are not a special class like jedis that need to be kept rare. secound jedi are much more powerfull than us if you want it fair make BH's equaly strong. but it isnt saposed to be fair. thats why bh shouldnt have permadeath with jedi. Jedi are ment to be rare which they arnt if permadath were reintroduced we could certainly be the jedi population control instead of thecouplehour delay of a stronger jedi.

There are a lot of issues with perma-death even without the PvP aspect tossed in. Lost conn, broken abilities, etc. If perma-death were going to come back in, would the person have to get 'glowy' again? Would they lose all of their non-jedi skills? What about equipment, houses, etc?
Now, I'm a fan of the perma-death idea in principle, but in practice it needs VERY careful reasoning and balance. when BH were camping the cloning centers, even having a 3 deaths in a week allowance would have resulted in many permanent deaths to Jedi. That's an aweful big price to pay for someone else's exploiting.
I will say, that while the current xp loss system seems a little more fairly balanced, it doesn't address what happens when a Jedi masters his art. Some kind of skill box loss should accompany the xp loss at certain points. What those are I'd be hard-pressed to address, since I'm not a Jedi.

I don't know but if the jedi that were exploiting the FRS keep it up they might make the Devs mad enough to bring it back. Time will tell.

Well, if we are going to have perma-death in PvP for the bounty system, it should go both ways.

I don't really know. But to permadeath one calss is wrong it must happen to everyone and that is why I am against it for now, because as the game is right now, it's wrong. If the game was revamped, changed, eys why not. More immersion, more fear true roleplaying more talking less fighting- but when it comes to fighting
- That's my personal opinion.

I'm not sure if this has ever been discussed before so please forgive me if this is old ground being dug up again. Last night I signed on to take care of some orders. Once logged in I quickly removed my tag (I know, I'm a bad bad tailor) and put up my afk "doing orders please leave a message after the beep" message. As always I checked my mail first and saw about 70 emails all titled "Auction Unsuccessful" ::groan:: As I was relisting the items I was wondering why there's a limit on how long we can have things on vendors. So not knowing the answer I thought maybe someone here could tell me. I mean we're just going to relist the item anyway right? So why not take away the timer and just let our items stay listed? The new changes to vendor make it possible to seek out idle vendors (no sales or not having new items stocked) so I can't think of a reason why this limitation can't be lifted. It's also possible that I'm missing some deeper reason to having a limited time to sell items. If so please let me know.

I honestly don't know, but this would be a good topic to search for in the merchant forum.

Ayup I posted there too. For the life of me I just can't figure out what the reason would be.

I think the limit 1) discourages people from storage 2) makes the seller realize that their item isn't selling and forces them to try to resell it, adjust the price or remove it. 3) The stock room deletesthe item nobody wants if the seller doesn't relist it.
This now has a purpose, because vendors go poof if they're empty. Nobody wantsto see that overpriced crap on a vendor left from a player that quit.
Of course this does provide a problem for tailors. We have the most item combinations in the game. Not everybody is going to want that electric orange shirt, but you might want it there for when an orange loving customer comes to buy out your stock.
One thing I've read on the merchant forums that merchants want isa relist button, that would just automatically relists everything for the same price. I personally would LOVE LOVE LOVE to have that. I'm in the process of repricing, and I'm forced to go as they expire, because I do not want to fix the prices and have everything expire on the same day.

Essentially it is a mechanic to prevent you from stocking your vendor with all your stuff and then leaving the game and not coming back for months and those items sticking around and taking up space in the vendor. They are supposed to either be sold or force you to take action. It also serves as an indicator that you have stock that isn't moving as well. If your items aren't selling month after month (the same items) then you need to look at the pricing or the items you are tryign to sell. A certain amount of expiration is expected since you try to keep your vendor fully stocked, but if you are constantly having to put the same items back up for sale time and time again then I would suggest you should look at why they aren't selling.
