I think you fleshed out the idea more than I did, but I beat you by about 9 months

I read these forums fairly often, but I may have missed it if anyone has brought this up.

One way that weaponsmiths create a variety of weapons is that there is weapon certification. There are a variety of weapons and you can't use some of them until you reach the appropriate level.

I think this is a good idea if it can be implemented into armor. Unfortunately it will mean reworking the entire armor system. I would love to see profession-specific armor that benifits the profession. This means that sony would have to rework the special resists to actually have a variety of them and perhaps even more than 1 resist.

For instance:

A marksman could wear armor with energy special resist (+ other base resists), then when he reaches a specialist tree he could wear armor with energy/heat resist (accomplished using advanced segments).

A brawler could wear armor with kinetic resists (+ other base resists), then when he reaches a specialist tree he could wear armor with both kinetic/stun special resist.

I realize that these mirror what skills the character has, and is not indicative of how he/she will be attacked. But base resists will take into account various other resists, and just the special resists mirror the profession.

The instant upside is there is a variety of armor, and the downside is keeping up with all of the resources.

Please respond with your feedback!

Yeah and before I got banned for it lol, my only question is why didn't this moron get banned for inciting a flamewar/riot?

Of course sometimes, it's worth getting banned.... this was one of those times

Ummm hi slappy, since the CU we have been making more variety, the problem is that the crafting game got dumbed down to the point of cooking a hotdog in a microwave. Of course that hotdog takes 4 days to finish mixing the meat and another 3 to wrap the skin over it, then we have to use special buns depending on whether it was a turkey, chicken or beef hotdog.

Let me know if analogy doesn't work for ya

Since you are the idiot in question that bumped this back up from the depths of the sarlac pit where this steaming pile of crap belongs then.... yeah!

Stick to the ritalin muncher boards next time and stay out, next thing you know we'll be needing insane weaponsmith resources that only spawn once ina blue moon, and have to fight off rancors and nightsisters for some crap fiberplast. Maybe even make it so pure crafters cant wear armor too that would be cool..... Oh yeah thats right because of Devs listening to morons like you rather than the smiths that make the stuff and give very valid suggestion that constantly go on deaf ears, we do have to find this crap now completely naked!

and let me QFE here as well

The only place I want my hotdogs is in my mac and cheese, NOT ON MY ARMOR!

i dont see how this post would or did cause a riot or cause anyone to get banned, if you got banned thats your fault, not mine. Yeah sorry the devs listened to a totally reasonable ideal. Sorry im not a smith, lol but its still a great ideal that they listened too
