ok, i have 2 of these now... anyone else think it needs more condition or something different/special about it? I mean, its cool and all but thats about the only reason to get it... rarity/coolness factor. It's slow as well...
Jetpack needs to be worth all the trouble it takes to get it.

there's 6 parts altogether.
Jetpack base
Fuel injector
a Ducted fan
Dispersal Unit
Alum Minerals
Jetpack Stabilizer
The first 4 parts you loot from blacksun and deathwatch NPCs on endor, dath, or yavin IV.
the alum minerals is the reward from the foremans Quest inside the dwb
The jetpack stabilizer is a 100% guarenteed drop from the DeathWatch overlord. Again inside the dwb. Can be either the faction quest overlord, or the static overlord.
once you got all the parts, then head to the Droid Engineer crafting room (you'll need a DE with the group to open the door) in the very bottom back corner of the mines in the dwb, and a Master artisan can craft the jetpack.

I used to think this too, then I actually got to fly one...
The jetpack is actually quite fast. It's as fast as the AV-21 but moves even better because it takes no penalties for terrain negotiation. You go straight up a hill at exactly the same speed that you cruise indowntown Coronet.
It does decay very quickly, however, and when you make it there's no experimenting on the condition. All jetpacks have exactly 1500 hitpoints.
As far as whether or not it is special, I would say it's incredibly special. On most servers only a handful of jetpacks exist so it's very rare to see someone flying around on one. In the three or four minutes that I was flying around on one I received over a dozen tells asking where I got it and how much money I wanted for it.

thnx alot m8. sounds like hard work.
but worth it
i wouldnt say worth it,
the jetpack is the slowest and also fastest decaying vehicle in the game
nothing special about it at all
and your stuck in a permenant superman pose while your wearing it
jetpack crafting process is very buggy
only reason to go though all that work is if your a very serious collector, if you wanna risk the parts on what could be a bugged craft

VERY Worth it!
Who cares if it decays fast
it's definatly not slow! Won't catch me riding mine outside of a city often tho ![]()
Less jetpacks around than lightsabers around... i'd say that makes it pretty special
/raise, /duck, /bounce. all fun stuff to do when your on a jetpack!
after crafting multiple jetpacks i wouldn't say very buggy. A little buggy, but that seems to be more the door to the crafting room than the actual process itself. Sometimes it just doesn't wanna let people into the room!

Only a DE can craft it in the DWB, you need 6 or so parts I believe.

DE opens the door to the crafting room, but the master Artisan crafts the jetpack itself.
