Thread: Plea to the devs: Lack of resources ruining fun.

Planning on it now that some speak of the devil, Beryllius copper, has spawned. Got my hands on the good neutronium this week, and yes I don't deny people have waited a long time for resources, but that is a little excessive, and while everyone has had to endure those massive periods of no spawn, does that make it wrong to ask for a change to the system? 2 weeks (not guaranteeing any kind of quality spawn) would be more like it... perhaps even 3... but 5 is just stretching it a bit.I explained my reasons and everyone has pretty much sided against my view.. thats ok, I'll sit back and do it they way everyone else has. Don't get me wrong, if I hated the game I wouldn't bother posting, but it's because I love the game that I post, and postwith such passion.
5 weeks with no axidite... just takes me back to my early doc days when class 4 and dolovite weren't spawning... I just don't find it much fun that's all, but it's quite amazing how some people with positive attitudes can really make you interested in those lesser armours once again.
I do not disagree with you at all. Waiting for resources isn't fun. I am of the opinion that it is a "necessary evil" though. I realize it is easier said from this side once you have finally gotten some stock of decent resources and are not looking and hoping for that first spawn of something you need. I understand.
Part of the problem is this horrible "top heavy" issue in Armorsmith, and basically all crafting professions. It's mostly Master or nothing. I did not grind at all, and it took me from June 26th to Thanksgiving to master Armorsmith. I definitely wasn't rich, and I still am not. I did do a fairly good job of hunting needed resources as I went so that when I did finally get to Master, I had what I needed to make Advanced Composite. Some of its luck though.
I say carry on. Be frustrated, but if you are serious, it will pay off in the end.

Yeah well you little piss ant I didn't get to grind through AS in a day or 2 either.
What makes you think I did it in 2 days? I said I had been a master for 5 weeks now. Ever think that all I have been making is bone, chitin and ubese when I got up to it?Probably not I'm betting.I don't make armour to sell for millions, I make it for my guild. I make loads ofPSGs, even whenthe stats justkeptshifting. I hand made a few thousand AUK's for our smugglers. Sure I ground AS on my main char, that was for the jedi slot. Some of us like to play our characters, and to do that we need resources. Sure I can go back to making bone and chitin, but why should I be restricted to that when I put in the work to master the profession?
*shrug* such hostile elitists we have here on the forums. I want everyone to enjoy the game, seems most here dont'.
"After reading the replies I got to what I thought was a general concern amongst all users of resources, I no longer care whoI upset. I am not making armour to sell, only to supply my guild. I don't think there is anything I can do to win popularity here, it seems the majority of established armoursmiths would rather see people suffer months of no resources like they did than see any kind of improvement to the game. I saw the same thing in the bounty hunter community, and also the jedi community. I think these are the same people that like to sit and wait 10 minutes for a shuttle. I'm almost sorry I even bother reading these forums any more."
Well apparently you're the only one that has a problem with it.
1) get rid of all this "unknown" resource types, does anything actualy call of this?
2) fix the spawning of resoures, instead of spawing the same resource across 5-6 planets, have it only appear on 1-2 planets, and have different resources spawn elsewhere. Give us more variety.
The unknown resource types seem to follow the same gates as other resources of that type, ie: unkown ferrous metal seems to have the same mall gates as other steel's and irons.
I think they should keep unknown resources in, but unlock their gates. They're pretty rare as things stand now, but wouldn't it be cool if there was a slight chance of an unknown ferrous metal getting 900+oq 900+mall and 900+ shock? ![]()
