Hey guys,

I'm curious on 'sockets' on which you insert SEAs. I never owned an SEA so I'm unsure how the process works. A friend of mine needed a new left bracer. His former one was made by our guild master armorcrafter and allowed him to insert an SEA. I made one for him and it didn't have the option, or 'socket'. Am I missing something in the creation process?

Number 7 in the TOS that you accept every time you start up the game:

"you may not use or distribute macros or other programs which would allow unattended game play"

Good point, but technically, the mouse clicking program is a "program which would allow unattended game play," even if that's not what you're using it for (since you're attending your computer while it runs). By their wording you can't even use or email an Entertainer Flourish macro, since that could be used to do unattended gameplay.

Then again, double-clicking resourcescould hardly be considered"game play"; at the very least it's not the type of "game play" I envisioned when I bought the game. On the third hand, you're not really intended to grind, you're intended to gain experience naturally as you craft armor to sell. But, if they really didn't wantus to grind/craft purely for XP gain, why'd they give us a Practice option? (probably to save their database fromthousands ofinsertitem / deleteitem 5 seconds later transactions).

Using a macro program to automate ingame task, especially those not able to be done with the macro system IN Game, are not permitted.

GarVa, in case you read this reply, how come some professions/functions can be done unattended legally, like entertainers, but others can't, like crafters? (since there's no in-game macro command to select resources)

After reading the complete guide and the holo guide, I must say..."Armorsmiths have one of the best correspondants of any profession". Simply outstanding work!

Question: Do the resource estimates for the AUK and Ubeese shirts take CFs into account? Or should more resources be gathered to offset failures?

No, they do not take critical failures into account. Furthermore, they're off by a bit, as someone posted above. As soon as I have a chance to check their figures, which look right to me, I'll make the change. Just been a bit slow on that.

I'm not going to touch the afk-macro issue, even with a ten-foot pole, except to say that my general opinion is that if you need to run a third party piece of software (other than softer that allows the running of the game in the first place- i.e.: the OS and drivers) to perform specific game actions, you're probably not playing by the rules.

Thanks for this macro guide. Very useful. I think anyone doing any kind of macro grind should read it.

Here's my question. You are assuming that I want to grind using practice mode. I don't. I want to make PSG components and hord a whole bunch to get ready for my next grind up the PSG ladder. I'm working on my master artisan to make the additional components I'll need to make the PSG level 1's. Anyway the point is, how do I change the macro you put down to make me create the items instead of practicing?

What path do you recomend?
i am grinding up to 0/0/0/4 so that i can make usefull stuff soon. but what to do after? I'd say i am kind of sick of waiting to sell an AUK to put money in the harvestor... since i started the armorsmith path, my bank account averages ~200cr!

So would you recommend the PSG path or the armor type path?
Thanx

The initial post recommended getting Ubese Armor Shirts as your next grinding item, so go up the line that grants those.

To make a little money, take a few thousand of the resources you harvested and sell them on the bazaar at 3 credits per unit, or 4 if it's reallygood quality. That way you can keep your harvesters going without waiting to sell AUK's.

Or if you need a quick buck and are based on corellia, go to tyrena and taketwo artisan crafting missions south, to Vreni Island. You'll spend 240 in shuttle tickets, but you'll make about 3000 credits, and you can grind AUK's while you wait for the shuttle.

This is a great how-to thread.

I was an Architect/Tailor before the holos- --- i was actually thrilled to get Armorsmith after spending weeks doing Creature Handler. I look forward to doing some real experimenting and combines after the grind.

Anyway my real comment here is about resources. I just wanted to let thenon crafters know that grinding a master artisan line is not just an investment in time but a heavy investment in credits.

As someone else said you are either going to have to buy tons of harvetsors, then survery, then plop down the harvestors, then pay maintence and desposit power, and then wait while the harvestors harvest. This could take anywhere from 2-4 days depending on how many harvetsors and the quality of the patch you found.

Wth chemicals, it is usually easy to find 80-90% patches. Metals my take a little more hunting for a good spot but dont place harvestors on anything below 75%.

Hide you will probably just have to buy. I havent seen any good amounts of hide for sale in a while and usually have to buy in small chunks off the bazaar.

If you plan to buy everything without harvesting, just be prepared to spend the credits. I bought most of my materials when i was grinding Architect just to save time. I easily spent a million credits. That money is just gone as when its all over you have nothing to show for it

Luckily, i have most of this stuff on hand already and found armor segments on sale fairly cheap.

When I was going up master artisan (didn't grind it, just made and sold a lot of stuff), i had two BER2 minerals, a BER2 chemical, and a few wind generators, all placed within 1000m of coronet or tyrena. I'd run pairs of crafting missions from Tyrena to Vreni island, making about 2750 each round trip. After 4 or 5 runs, I could fund my harvesters for a few days. I also sampled overnight for Survey XP, and in the process grabbed another 2k or so metal each night. I never ran out of resources or money.

So it's not the fastest way to get master artisan, but it wasn't hard, and it was fun.

Can someone tell me if I have this right. For crafting the marabari chest plates you need the following

150k Metal

120k Fiberplast

80k Hide

56k Inert Petrochem

6k synthetic clothe

I might of rounded those figures. But are there other components i am missing? like that weeveable thing and can all the components be bought fairly easy?

If you don't wanna buy the synthetic cloth, you also need a factory...
