well, at master id you can change your head size but there's nothing like the sound of a master entertainer/master musician that can play all the songs with all the instruments.

Most memorable SWG quotes:
"You lookin fer summat?"
"Get on board the falcon kid. This place is gonna blow." (How can you forget something you've heard over 100 times in a row?)

LMAO! I remember back when the bug was going around that let twi'lek have hair and such. I had to fix a wookiee once. He walked up to me and said I need your help badly. I said Ok, what can I do. he asked if we could go somewhere else because he didnt want to be seen, he was wearing a wookiee hood. I said sure and we went around back of the cantina. He took off his hood and I about died from laughter. Someone had used the command to give him an afro. Rofl that was the funniest thing I have ever saw in my career as an ID. Luckily I knew how to fix him and set him back to no hair and he went his marry way, but my god was that funny.

I have been a combat profession since I started playing and now I'm considering giving it all up & trying life as a crafter (dropping all combat skills). My question is this:

Without combat skills do you still have fun playing the game or do all of you have an alt?

Something about surveying for resources, crafting, and setting up a nice business sounds like fun....

There's always plenty to do, it just depends on what you enjoy. Maintaining harvesters and factories, searching for resources both on the bazaar/vendors and by surveying, maintaining stock, researching market values and pricing... oh yeah, there's plenty to do.

Yeah, I must admit there is something alluring to the sound of running a profitable business. Back in November of 2003, I made a crafter alt on Valcyn (architect) and ran a pretty good business for about 6 months. After that I returned back to my Chilastra commando, started up my Infantry Online defunct guild again and spent the rest of 2004 playing with the commando/commando community. I still have my alt, and made him a MWS a month or so before the CU Beta started (due to becoming the Commando Corr, I thought It would be a wise thing to do to learn how our guns were put together - besides, I always wanted to make weapons!) and around then I started up a much smaller business that has been giving me some nice returns on Valcyn. Its nothing big, but I do have fun with it (although my guild/combat char takes up more of my time).

In my opinion, its better to have the best of both worlds...have both a combat character, and a crafter character. Many times when stressed with my guild, or correspondent duties - I log into Valcyn, and just craft a bit. Not everyone I know, knows my alt there so it can be pretty quiet, but its nice taking a break every now and then rather than blowing stuff up all the time

I've had some thoughts about once crafting gets a little tedious and then it dawned on my that JTL may be the best fix for that.... it gives me some combat, doesn't take up much needed skill points, & I DON'T HAVE TO DEAL WITH JEDI

(sorry for bringing up the heated jedi convo again)

That's a good point. Personally, I'm only CL 16, but it's enough to wear armor, and be left alone by most of the baddies running around on Tat. Keeping some points in combat helps.

I have a combat alt (which includes smuggler) I've had more fun crafting spices with the main and then setting up shop with the alt who is master artisan working on master merchant. It takes time to establish yourself and the grind can be a little rough, but it's worth it. I find myself playing my main less and less

Oh and remeber you don't have to do it all. If you want to save some time you can buy or hire people to survey for your resources.. you can rent a vendor from a merchant... there are a lot of options. Remeber to start small and work your way up so you dont get overwhelmed
