It is true its all a matter of opinion, I just like a tad bit of randomness associated with buffs as pointed out by one poster above +/- 10% would be decent IMO. I still feel strongly about resources, on my server when a good spawn of avian appears most docs are normally offering 40cpu for the spawn and I personally just paid 100cpu for some very very nice avian that spawned awhile back.

The way I am interpreting the patch and how it affect docs is this.... yourbuff will be very dependent on your packs used because they will be capped. This also means that resources used will be very very important in the crafting process of buff packs. So if you are buying avian meat from hunters which many docs do you will probably expect too see hunters gouging the hell out of meat prices once they realize the buff packs are going to be very dependent on quality resources. As well as all resource vendors etc.

real_noc you referring to the avain that spawned on Dath a few weeks ago? good stuff huh Got 15k of it...

As to the upcoming change I am very pleased to see some sensible changes being made. I think there should be a distinct difference btw a master doctor buffing versus a dabbler or someone that isnt a master yet but is working on it.

With my current packs, bio clothes and droid I will be able to tell people "Master Doctor buffing all 6 stats at GUARANTEED 2600+, 9k" and be done with the constant whining about the random low one.. I think its great! I never understood the "random factor" that was part of the soon to be old system.

Thanks correspondant for getting our issues heard and ultimately resolved..

Lesson one in posting on boards: don't use the subject line "please read". Everyone wants their post to get read. Your subject line should indicate what your post is about.

Morven now that you have set the tone for how your rules of forum posting should be followed ill take that into consideration the next time....../sarcasm off

Now, I am not so concerned about "static" buffs but more to the point that once people start to realize that doc buffs are going to be based on the RESOURCES used. Its going to drive the price on high OQ/PE/DR resources through the roof, and I believe that we will be subjected to price gouging by hunters/miners. On flurry current prices of buffs are 6k per set and I always tip back 1k for any buff less than 1k, but i can hear the moaning now of charging 20k for buffs simply because the cost of resources will be so high. I am a TKM/MD so i can harvest most of my own, my main concern goes out to those that are looking into the doctor profession but will not be able to afford the "gouged" prices.

I don't sell buffs AT ALL. However, I personally think 6k is way underpriced, especially if the combatant is going to run missions. The buff will last 2-3 hours, and they can pay for a 20k set of buffs with one rancor mission, which is much easier to do with buffs. I also don't think people will mind paying more if you can guarantee what you will buff them for. Using 900 power packs with the new system, you can buff for approximately 2400 if I recall (Bivoli, BE clothes, droid). If you use the system of 1 credit : 1 buff point, then this pays the doctor just under 15k.

I feel this is more than fair, and if you charge less than this, I reallythink you are underpricing your skills and your time. Doctors will charge what they want, but try to realize the service you are doing for the players. Their money making potential from missions / hunting (which can yield rare loot) goes up by an immeasurable value for the measley price of 6-20k, and 20k is well worth it for what buffs allow them to do.

That's a pretty standard price on my server as well, and I find it rather amusing. I guess to each their own.

Fellow Pikemen/women/masters/whatevers/nothologrinders:

Let's get this out of the way. When I first saw the game (before release) I wanted to be a commando. My friend got it on opening day and I made a character. He was a pikeman. After I got the game for myself I went pike. I am currently a 4/1/1/2 pikeman, and I will never, never, never drop this profession. I know I may not have the from-opening-day-and-beyond experience as some of you, just hear me out.

Now I'm curious. Everybody (including me) constantly is whining about the pathetic state of pikemen. We whine about the combat pass getting shafted. We complain about our crappy-but-it's-supposed-to-be-uber weapon. We petition for fixes to our sadly broken profession.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not trying to insult the pikecommunity. I think we need to keep fighting for what we feel we need to help our profession. I applaud the efforts of our correspondent, Gunman21, to get these changes pushed through the bureaucracy that is the Devs.

But to be honest with all of you out there who actually care about this wonderful profession, nothing is getting done. As I was halfway through writing this, I heard about the new TK vibro-motor-hack-stupid fiasco. Other professions get fixed while we get left in the dust. In light of this, I ask you...

What can we do about it?

The answer: I'm putting it up to the rest of you all to decide. I'll run through some of our options.

A) Work through our designated correspondent.
Well, THAT'S certainly been tried. Gunman21, if you know of some massive pikeman upgrade in the near future, please say so now, so this post can die slowly. But, unless that's the case, this hasn't worked too well for us.

B) Complain on the forums.
Again, that's been tried. However, I don't even know if the Dev's even know this forum EXISTS, much less read it.

C) Go on strike.
This may seem dumb, but this was actually suggested on the equally-nerfed-as-us Ranger forum. Would it work? Considering the tiny size of the Pikecommunity, not likely.

D) Get other large groups (e.g. TKs, CMs, and BHs) to push for our help.
Not likely. These professions will look out for themselves long before they would even consider helping us.

E) Spam/Flame the Devs
Probably would just piss them off, but at least they would know we existed.

In conclusion, I'm just sick of nothing getting done. SWG is a great game, and Pikeman is an awesome profession. WE NEED TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT ALL THIS. So if you have any ideas, post 'em up.

Ok, I'm done now.

Was hunting dath with my jedi when suddenly i get a message saying i have been slain by an enraged rancor.... I look up at my ham bars and there all full. I send a bug report about it the second it happens and take a screen shot. Then for some strange ass reason it boots me and when i relog back in it says i have now three tracked deaths. Has this happened to anyone else? Have gotten no response from the csr's btw.
