AT-STs and stormies do energy damage type, so it doesn't matter that your armor's 87% base, because it has 80% energy protection. Your protection is 80%, not 87%, because you bought inferior armor that negates your good slice.

And honestly, if you can PVP on your server that effectively without even stun resistant armor....your server is pretty weak. Should try coming to valcyn sometime, we'll make you feel like a newbie all over again.

Since you can't seem to comprehend anything that I post, I'll make this my last. Since when do I need stun protection from an AT-ST? Or a bunch of stormies? Didn't I say in my first post that I use this armor to solo when my friends/guildies aren't online? If I am pvp'ing players I wear my stun armor and use my janta packs, for stormies and AT-ST's I just need Kin's armor to solo the whole base. As for ahazi having weak pvp? hahaha ignorant people are funny in the eyes of the educated.

if they don't care about ham, then they'll want heavy armor with effect slices to break past the 80% barrier, maybe hit 90%. You're just hurting the 2 most important resists by putting them in special protections, thus making them unsliceable.

I'm sorry, I just don't get it

Ok allow me a combat monkey who also happens to have any armorsmith clear this up for you. The average person dosn't have the money to buy 25 suits of composite just to go get them sliced and end up with 2 suits of 90% base armor hence 80% is excellent protecton and the slice dosn't even matter.

lol Veehawk, you ARE on crack.

Anyway, I kinda had a realization about this armor, and it's not that it's a design for a poor man who can only afford one suit...it's a design for a hardcore player who burns through armor but is too lazy to rebuild a new suit every couple days. Amidst all his Kin-fanboy rambling and self-contradiction, Veehawkmanaged tohit the nail on the head...this islimited armor, but it comes ready made with a mini-slice.

If anyone ever really takes a hard look at they're combat log and also uses a good effect sliced imp PSG, you'll notice the PSG takes nearly the majority of dmg. Thus to some degree limiting the neccessity of stun armor.

For example, someone shoots at you for 250 points of damage with a jawa ion rifle....

lets say you have a 60% stun resist PSG equipped.

when the shot first hits, 150 points of that 250 are defeated by the PSG. Then 100 points is remaining going to your armor.

Lets just say for ease, that you have 30% stun armor, your dmg reduction goes down to 70 points. A mere 30 point difference.

The point of this is that 30 points of dmg is not huge in comparison. And if someone perhaps wasn't neccessarily hard core serious about pvp, they might want to get a armor suit with say... 80% kinetic, 80% elec, and 7% stun, and 70% base. In this scenario this armor only takes 23 more points of dmg than a fully layered stun suit. Meanwhile you get a solid 80% kinetic resists regardless of your slices, maknig this very suitable for PVE as well.

My only real point to this, is that armor can be built a number of different ways, and no one way is the most correct for every situation. While it may be all well in good people going out buying full stun layered armor and doing whatever they gotta do to get the entire suit good 80% + effect slices, most people don't wanna do that. When it comes to PVE unless you've made PVE your lifes work, then wasting all that time and credits getting 80%+ base stun armor is pointless. You need maximum energy and/or kinetic resists and NOW. Not after umpteen slices later. It's a difference in playstyle alot of people have.

Using a 100 damage shot (for simplicity) from the AP1 Jawa Rifle, against armor w/ 30% stun resist, the attack does 87 damage. Against armor w/ 7% stun resist, it would do 116.

Also, there have been reports that AP1 weapons ignore PSGs, but I haven't tested it myself, so I'm not sure.

uh, that's wrong.

You'd be right if the jawa was ap2, or the armor was ar0.

well ive tried and tried and tried and tried and tried but still cant seem to get this stuff made

struggling to hit the 4/10 energy layer, 3/10 is the best i seem to get using cake and port (10pt smith) and my resources are really good on these parts.... the kinetic layers seem to be 4/5.5 cause i come out with 11 on the kinetic segment

when the segment is made i get 32 base, 11 kinetic, 8 electric and 10 energy... the odd thing im finding, put it into gloves and my special resists are around the 35% mark with base at 40ish........ isnt that the wrong way round

any suggestions?
