/disagree with first post

not having wooley is part of being a new AS. I remember the days myself when I made my concrete blocks I called composite (crazy HAM)

I also watch several uber wooley spawns go and couldnt get the stuff and saw it going for 100-200cpu at the time and could not even begin to afford it

well a new batch of pretty good wooley spawned and I bought almost 400k of it for 40-100cpu. I was in the position to do this because I stayed in the profession and made my armor with the resources I had. An armorsmith can make a great living with just ubese, if he does it right.

also, if you go 6 months without a spawn of wooley, you will get some and then go another 6 months waiting for berrylius copper or something else, that is just part of the game

I think the devs are considering increasing the bonus to being a Master Ranger/Scout vs. novice scout. I will make do fine if they dont do it, but as a former Master Ranger, it pissed me off how crappy the bonuses to harvesting where, so I think the Rangers deserve this.

One thing I would like to add. Im specialized on Wookiee armor. To make ADV armor segments, I need 25 units of endorian decidous wood, and 8 units of yavin leathery. The problem is, it ONLY spawns on Mawgax, ugly annoying mid-level creatures that NOBODY hunts, except for me. To be honest, nobody really hunts on Endor, except for the Geo dungeon and maybe woolamander temple. As Im sure we all know, Yavin is crying for something good, something interesting, as it is, its about as boring as Rori. As with wooly hide, Ill do fine if they dont make some huge piss-off critter with leathery hide, but I really do think Yavin needs something fun.

Just waited 22 days for an ugly yavin leathery to shift away, and when it finally did, I got more crap Hope there will be some fun hide there soon.

As for the OT, I disagree. If they are going to increase anything, it should be harvest rates, not quality. So what if quality is crap for a YEAR? nobody else will have good resources, so everyones armor will be equally crappy.

Hey I've been playing since October and still haven't hit the base 70% mark yet. You are gonna have to wait to make good armor, in the mean time I suggest you start playing with other armor or PSG's and AUK's. Maybe get Master Artisan and make other things to help pay the bills. It'll take about 4months till you have the good resources to make armor and by then you'll know very well how to make good armor because you had to make do with the resources you had at hand.

I think the crafting profession would get boring really quickly if good resources just started popping up here and there at every pettition signed.

Why is this profession suddenly being populated by people that want all of the challenge removed? Finding resources is a challenge. If they're not in shift, it's about leveraging connections, just like Elood was saying - I've worked with him, and if it's spawned on our server, he can find it. If they are in shift, it's about making sure your offers are attractive enough to bring in the amount you need while it's around. I know plenty of armorsmiths (including myself) who have dumped millions and millions of credits on hide while it's in shift.

What really drives me crazy about this new breed of "make X easier for me, I'm new" is that they all seem to think that when people mastered months ago that they suddenly had 500K blocks of excellent resources dropped into their inventories along with a dozen or so GDK scales.

Going through resource shortages is part of an armorsmith's coming of age, just as much as mastering the skill boxes, learning how to actually make the best armor you can with less-than-uber resources, building a name for yourself, and getting your exp clothing put togetherare. If that's not appealing to you, there are crafting professions that aren't heavily resource quality and experimentation dependent for you to play.

Couple of advices I would give :

- Watch endor's wooly regulary.

You can't trust swgcraft for hides and endor is by far the easiest planet to gather wooly ( 10k hide/hour is not that hard to make on Endor as a novice scout).

I have seen at least one shift on Valcyn that was OQ+SR > 1850 but on Endor but was never marked on swgcraft...

I don't think wooly is a resource that necessary spawns with bad stats, I think it is totally random.

Valcyn has had 2 great spawns in the last 10 months ( OQ +SR > 1950) and many good spawns.

You just have to keep looking for it and when something good is up made a decent offer that will attract hunters.

Last time some very good Wooly was up on Tatoine, over 2 millions units of it was harvested on our server, most AS were offering btw 50 and 100 cpu and everyone with some combat abilities and not much cash was out there hunting for it.......

I think the original poster has made it perfectly clear that she doesn't expect everything to drop in her lap. It's been fairly clear that she's just frustrated...as all of us have been from time to time, at the resource spawns. Anyone that hasn't gotten frusterated by spawns has probably had everything handed to them.

Instead of berating that point to death...over and over and over....offer useful suggestions....or ignore the post.

Any idiot can point out problems, it takes thought and work to discover solutions.

That being said....does anyone have solutions?

Obviously there's nothing to be done about what spawns. It's been made perfectly clear in the pastthat no one is going to "force spawn" anything. An example would be the T-21 rifle. There was a server that had none of them for like 5-6 months because a needed resource didn't spawn.

After that, the only question is....How do I collect what I need?

I've made a few suggestions about that and I have other things to do than rehash them.....

.

I did give advise and then got insulted by the original poster because it wasn't what they wanted to hear.

Mantigrues drop wooly? I didn't know that.

Yeah, I am well familair with Endor... mastered sword, pike and TKM there...

And I have a great network of folks and such... but once again, when no one is hunting durnisand the only good wooly spawn in corellian, a network isn't going to help. The entire server is starving for it right now.

The currrent Rori and Endor shifts aren't bad... takes my Ubese down a% or two, but I'll manage.

There ya go. Sure that Endor wooly is pretty crap but for a starting armorsmith it's just what you need. Get a half decent stockpile so you can start selling armor and then hopefully when a good spawn shows up you can afford the high prices for it. You won't be a milionaire overnight. And even when you do get there you won't keep it. My bank account just went to almost 0 this week because I bought a sash with +11 armor exp points on it.

But since I've been an armorsmith for quite a while I know I can absorb that cost pretty easily. And probably make it all back with my next stock.

also i bet half of ya can't even tell me what drops wooly hide on lok and they are harder to find then GDK's. you can't get missions for them I've been an armorsmith for around 6-8 months i've lost track. I rather enjoy it.

For the other half, that dont know, its Langlatches. Darn pests, I think the get up to around cl16 or so, but seeing as how you cant get missions for them, its pointless. If they were missionable, then it would be a great boon.

Hey! I did offer a suggestion, and no one noticed (or they didnt care...either way). There should be at least a cl15-17 missionable creature for every organic resource type. For Lok, its easy as you just make a Male Langlatch lair that you can get missions for. For Corellian Wooly, maybe a Giant Durni that is around cl17 that you can get missions for. Will it still take a significant time to get massive quantities of their hides? Yes! Will Rangers still charge 50-100cpu for the hide? Yes! But at least the hide will get on the market. The same should be done for other resources too...Tat avian hide/meat comes to mind.

Whoops, as was Vinter.

That rocks... I've been hunting Rori hide, which was only slightly less statwise than that, but Endor wooly is much quicker. Yay!
