/shudder...langlatches

God I remember when good wooly spawned on Lok. Lol. And at that time I grabbed about 20k of it and thought. Wow. I got alot of wooly! Well then I was introduced to the concept of using factories to make my composite. Then I looked at my wooly hide and cried.

I suppose it's something we have come to accept as old timers. No profession is easy. And don't expect to become a millionaire over night. It takes time to gain a nice stack of hide and also to develop a customer base. By the time that happens you might not want to make armor anymore. It happens to us all. Every single old timer has had thoughts of retiring. I've done it once myself. But if you really have a love for crafting then you will be patient enough to wait on that good wooly spawn. I think the only reason I'm still playing is because I like crafting so much.

Or maybe I'm crazy. Lol.

I vote for crazy, but I know a guy that's AS and WS. Makes me feel sane again.

One thing about being a great AS is getting to know your fellow ASs. If you want the great stuff, befreind everyone. They will introduce you to their supplier and so on and so forth.

I can still get wooly spawns that came around 6 months ago because I decided to do something about it instead of whine.

This is a social game, you need to get out there and sell yourself. People horde things you would never belive. I have ASresources that would make other ASs drool and have given some to people when they needed it.

A petition to SOE will do nothing but annoy the rest of us. Reading this thread, you can see that.

Oh yeah I totally agree with the befriending other AS's on your server. Maybe times have I logged in and received an email from another AS pointing me to an extremely uber spawn that hasn't been updated on swgcraft yet. I do the same when I find a really good spawn. don't look at them as your enemy but rather look at them as a team. There is no way one smith can supply the whole server with armor so there is plenty of money to be made even when helping your competition. Although if they massively undercut you then you don't have to help them at all.

That's me....couldn't possibly hope to do it without Fooman and Jenner's tool.

That and a bunch of support from my guild - it is possible

wooly hide, however annoying to get, is the only thing that keeps people like me from supplying the entire server with enough composite to last a year overnight. There's a reason they dont spawn tons of wonderful stuff all the time... you have to work to get resources. most veteran AS have millions of top quality resources, but generally at any given time will have 100k or less good wooly... that's the way it goes.. and it's very good at keeping me and many other smiths from completely ruining the market on composite. if you want to be a good smith, you have to wait and jump on the good spawns. who cares if they're on corellia? eclipse's best corellian sold for 250-300cpu, but i know people who stocked many 100k of this stuff. get rich off of poor wooly, and then get good wooly.. money is very easy to come by in this game...

I second this idea actually . I think we all know the pain from when a really good wooly hide spawns on a planet like corellia.

As things stand the best planets for wooly seem to be endor and yavin. And even they don't grant much when compared to dathomir and it's leathery hide supply.

oooo *idea*
/petition to make Rancorsgrow wooly hide lol (joking )

I helped a friend get avian meat from Tat.

Actually, getting the stuff on the low level planets isn't that hard. I currently have a team of 5newb scouts hunting wooley on Rori for me. I offered each a suit of comp for 10k of the stuff. Plus, it shows up on Bazaar. Usually for low prices. Granted, you're probably going to be buying stacks of 10-100, but it's frequently priced at around 4cpu. Not much difference clicking "attack" or "buy".

Go to Mos Eisley and recruit. There's been a flood of new people starting lately. I'd come there with a "welcome" pack. Include...Mabari suit, some basic weapons (not the first set...something they can use after training a couple of boxes), a travel pack and a ticket to the needed planet. Maybe even buy novice scout andbrawler training for them. Then offer a price for the hides.

As for the original poster....I know it sux. Waited 2 months after master to get Beyrillius copper. I just collected other stuff, made other armor (Chitin, Mabari, Ubese) and explored. Btw....there's a decent market for Mabari. I can sell 4-5 suits per day on Bazaar. Most people are smart enough to determine the difference between 4% and 25% base resists. Just have to determine which city to list in.

I believe this got blown way out of proportion. I apologize to those I offended...

I'll admit to being frustrated with the profession a bit. I love the actual crafting part. I've made some very nice looking Ubese sets for people, my favorite being a very cool black and white (real white, not the standard offwhite generally used) and pink and white set (which I entitled my Powerpuff Edition )

Inorganics don't worry me too much... that always seems to be around somewhere because at least 50% of any given server probably mines. I just bought a heap of polymer and neutro steel from some friends of mine in my network.

Organics is a touchy thing... it seems for most rangers, everything is weighed against "Will I make more doing this than I could doing rancor missions at 36k a mission?" When the only good shift of wooly (during the time I had been armorsmith) was Corellian... you can't pay enough for Corellian Wooly to get people to hunt it. I hunted durnis 2 hours every day for 2 weeks and only got 10-15k worth of hide with a good harvbot.

Will I deal with it? Sure...

For example, right now, we just got a wooly shift on Rori with 900+ OQ and 400+ SR. Not uber... but this is the sort of thing I was basically asking for, not "OMG, I want 999 OQ and 999 SR plz, k thx." Just something better than 150 OQ and 54 SR...

Now that I know this is a normal thing, it doens't bother me as much. I guess I was starting to wonder if SOE was artifically keeping the stats of wooly hide low.

3... you can't count Corellia or Lok.

why becauses its a small droping creatures? you can still get tons of hide from them. it just takes alot of work. you said you hunted 2 hours a day and only got 10 to15k of wooly right? if its something you really want, you would have hunted alot more or pay someone to hunt for you. wait people don't hunt corellian wooly unless its for a high cpu. well guess what, it would seen that you don't want to hunt it either why would anyone else what to either. if you want something you need to work on it.

Um, I have a full time job and a life. I play when I can, and I hunted when I was able.

I don't think you're really being reasonable. It has nothing to do with willingness...

also i bet half of ya can't even tell me what drops wooly hide on lok and they are harder to find then GDK's. you can't get missions for them I've been an armorsmith for around 6-8 months i've lost track. I rather enjoy it. When yavin spawned good hide I ended up with close to 200k of it. Its not that I don't have the hunters of the abilities to get it.
