I recently hit master, and now my assembly failure and crit failure on experimentation has doubled from what it used to be. I could never get three crit failures in a rowbefore I hit master, but now I can do it regularly. I average two crit failures per piece when I experiment a point at a time, where I used to get one every five pieces before I hit master. Is this how the experimentation is supposed to work?

wow I totallly agree with this whole state of the armorsmith...except for the armor certifications...I don't quite get what they are except letting people get more out of armor than others with the same peice and that I don't agree on.

Also check to see if u are not using the resource from your backpack. I received that message multiple times while trying to use materials out of my backpack instead of my general inventory screen.

I too am not an Armorsmith but i will post here in hopes maybe someone in the dev department will catch an eye to this thread. I will give what i can to help out being i am a combat class out in the field constantly using compo as protection this is what i know. (im pretty knowledgable with the armorsmith class also)

#1 issue is definately PSG, Tantel AND NOW (god sakes) RIS armor stat shifting. This is ridiculous and seems to keep getting ignored. Funny part is the RIS was a friday feature too. LEast they could have did on test was to pick a few armorsmiths that were pretty good in their field on test and hand them a few bags of RIS components and craft the armor by hand. And monitor its resists/how well it worked. After all it was on test... how the hell did it make it past test AND be a friday feature if it has these problems.??

#2 Krayt Scales. For the love of god LOL. We as a combat people camped krayts for how many months now? (a lot). Whether solo or in a guild/group raid it dont matter. These are LOOTS off the toughest creatures in the game. Tissue works great. Segments are awesome if you get some good % segments. And krayt scales are supposed to make Armor enhanced (making it better) ON TOP of the already good resists. Krayt scales are a disappointment. Make armor worse and have no use STILL at this point in the game (need mind you 6 months after launch). I have 75 of very good/exceptional krayt scales rotting in a house just begging to be used when they fix it.

#3 I notice as a combat class i still get a occasionaly "armor hole" or hit that goes through. Mostly on the kinetic side. In ranged i pretty much resist everything to some degree. No hole's whatsoever that i can tell. But in melee range i noticed i still occasionally get toasted on a hit here and there. Like i mentioned its mostly on the "melee " kinetic side of combat more than ranged. And when you have a giant dune chasing you and wacks you for 1400 , that hole seems to be huge at that point

Last but not least... as a combat class i help as many people as i can with RIS. I can get the hides, i can get the bones and if i have my master ranger friend help i can get all feathers rather easily. WHY IS the giant dune kimogila so rare? And why is his loot for RIS even more rare? After getting 1 scale to complete the quest a few weeks before RIS went live ,I have killed 50+ Giant dune kimogilas since then.. on and off... and not one had the scale. They really need to up the drop on this RIS component alone. I know they want RIS to be rare, but even if you DID up the loot on Giant dune you would still have rare armor. It would allow moreof you armorsmithsto experiment with it also and therefore in the long run having any bugs in the armor worked out immediately. (I dont think immediately is in SOE's vocab anyway.) but still..

I know there are a lot of other issues you have with armor etc... being its mostly your profession. But this is just my .02cents im adding to this thread in hopes SOMEONE will read it higher up.

Stat shifting may be annoying, but my number 1 issue is the repair problem.

Used a 98.5% (yep, nice copper, eh) repair tool and destroyed a BP and a bracer that were at 75%

Lowered quality of helmet and shoulder

other shoulder and bracer were left with blemishes.

33% COMPLETE FAILURE using a repair tool that good is IDIOCY.

I've also noticed stat shifting on ubese shirts. I know they only have vulnerabilities, but an extra layer of light armor on the chest that even has potential to protect against stun isn't too bad.

Ok, my two cents:

1) It is time for the shifting stats on the PSG and other armor to end. This has been going on way too long

2) The armor hole is a problem but efffects my customers more than me. I'd like it to be fixed for their sake, especially now since armor decays.

3) I'd like to make armor more unique. I'd like my armor to be a personal statement for each of my users or guilds who wear it. To that end, I want more colors and I want to be able to put a coat of arms or some other decoration on the armor.

4) A big grip of mine is that I should be able to make 3x more segments than my none segment items. For example, with factory made items, when I use 3 kinetic layers in an Armor Segment, I can only make 300 Armor segments. If two armor segment then are required for a piece of armor, then I can only make 150 of those items with the same schmatic - not 1000. This is a big pain when you are trying to make factory made items. I would like the maximum numbers for manufactured items to be relative to the number of times that pc is needed - so layers have a maximum production run of 3x Segments. Segments can have a maximum production run of upto 4x Armor pieces. Armor pieces can remain at 1000.

I have said this before and I'll say it again. SWG is fun because you can personalize it. It is not all about fighting. Keep focusing on the personalization of the game and your will continue to see your loyal subscriber base grow. Armor is something that says something about one's toon, it can say - "I have arrived," better than any other property one can own. Give us more tools to personalize armor. Let us add special effects (noise and animations) to armor. Armor is a big investment for users, help us make owning armor a more enriching experience for them.

Dom Arts will not help with armorsmith armors. It may help in bone armor, but you won't make much money with that. About the only thing Dom Arts will do for you is help making fiber panels which is used as components in some armor.

Just a FYI

I suggest getting novice Tailor at the least.

Its a complete joke that PSGs aren't fixed along with tantel. No one is working on it obviously, a monkey could have fixed it in this amount of time. Of course I don't blame you, just the primates at SOE.
