I can crip shot 10 times easily with my carb , with only a pixieand my 400 migrated ham... you just need the right carb

how many professions are actually good unbuffed (no food/drink buffs either)?

well unfortunaly every proffesion has this problem with others its a bit less but tkm is horrible swordsman is the best

My current HAM is
H : 800 / 500 / 500
A : 800 / 500 / 500
M : 800 / 500 / 500
Search for a low HAM cost laser carbine (good damge, speedsliced prefered) and a good PvE armor.
I tend to play unbuffed as well buffed and enjoy unbuffed far more because it's more challenging.
Use specials wisely and as specials! Dont just spam them around like the rifleman with his headshot3.
I tend to rely much on the standard attack having quite a good armor so I can take some hits, without getting to much damage.
And look at how the targets HAM is developing,
If his action goes low, try to get an action bleed on him and carefully throw in some legshost/cripple shots.
If his health is getting low burstshot1 is, as stated in the FAQ, the best damage dealing shot hitting H alot (subjective observation).
And if he gets low on mind try throwing ins some carefull scattershots.
Kite and try to keep them in best distance getting them KD or posture down with charge shot or supression fire.
I try to open fire with a chargeshot1 to get him on his back and hit him with burstshot1/legshot depending on where the most damage is done so far, so the first stormtrooper is dead and my HAM almost intact.
My fights tend to look like those indians circleling round cowboys in those old west movies.
I usually need only to heal once per stormtrooper (Medic 1200), but I'll try to make sure I get them one by one. Just charging in functions too, takes longer and it depends on your luck and you shouldnt think about using specials, since all three (since it are mostly three) stormtroopers hit you for an amount of damage which is as much as I have in HAM, so it gets tricky.
So in a 1 vs 1 I use my HAM for the specials I use.
In a 3 vs 1 I need my HAM to take the damage only using the standard attack.
Dont cue up to mich specials so you can heal inbetween.

It currently looks as carbineer are FOTM on Ahazi .. I see more and more ppl with the Novice Carb and Master Carb running around....

well i like to run around with no armor no buffs and the human mind stat migration. the only special I'm spamming is 'stim'.
and the only other combat prof i've tried is I got to novice fencer once. but that was many publishes ago.

BE?! Are you insane?! ABE will drain their mind in 2-4 samples without food/buffs, plus there is always the chance that the criter will aggro (not fun if it's Rancor level).

For some reason I'm not a big fan of buffs, I just about survive with brandy, good stims and burst shot 1. True I don't take on insanely difficult mobs or npc's but it's entertaining enough for me...
Though I must try harder to find a lower HAM cost laser carb...

But as to carbs, on my other character, I only use my specials as a finishing shot, Posture down, and the like. If you spam specials unbuffed, you will die quickly, unless you got a carbine that is made with low HAM.

you didnt read my post did you? tkm is an awesome proffesion but unbuffed its hard to fight anything i can only get 44 damage per second to me without food but with swordsman its near nothing and they have more dps

Swordsman isa huge ham burner power hammer has 100 to health and a scythe has 70 to action not every sword are those exactly but are close to them. I can do about 3 special attacks with my scythe and have half of my actions gone.
