If you have a full datapad and want to tame more creatures, you'll need to clear some space in the datapad.
Assuming that you've trained all the pets (so as to get the xp) then you can simply release the pets in to the wild. Select destroy from the radial menu and that will release it, you are then free to tame another creature.
Have fun.

You could also give pets, under lvl 10, to new players in Mos Eisley.Try taming Durnis (CL 7), train them, then go to Eisley and offer them to new players. Nothing more fun thatn watching the Durni run after their new master!

Man....it's been a long time since I leveled Ch but I remember having this same thought. Yeah, you will get to a point where you don't outgrow your pets. Until then, you can do as I did, take comfort in the fact that you are learning about this profession.
IMO, this was a much bigger issue a year ago when the number of pets you could hold in your datapad at one time was patheticly low for new CHs. I had my favorite pet, then I had my helper and a pet or 2 that I liked but that's all. It was very frustrating to me.
But hang in there. Before you know it, you'll have some adults that are much more powerful than you have now. It just takes a lil more time n grindin.

Yeah, I felt this at times myself. I guess it really depends on how fast you gain experience and my impression is the Devs probably envisioned a longer journey to master where you would spend more time in each skill. Human nature being what it is though, most people are eager to be done with it and get their skills sooner rather than later.
It is a bit of a cop out and sacrilege to some, but something I did along my way to mastering CH was to use *some* Bio Engineered pets. There is a certain thrill with finding your own pets in the wild, but particularly as you move above the novice and first tier skills, the mid to high level pets can be significantly harder to tame as well as find and it can take days to weeks to find what you're after. With pets taking roughly a week to grow, using BE pets is an easy way to start the growing process sooner. I guess the other reason I used BE pets here and there was to see for myself what all the ruckus was about.
Before you go deleting pets in your datapad to make room, also keep in mind that later on you will be able to call two, and then three pets at the same time provided they do not surpass your maximum callable CL. You will need some lower level pets to do this. As you experiment with various pets be sure to make note of pets, specials, and other stats that you really like so that you don't delete it!
Overall, managing the datapad as you skill up your CH is a little on the painful side. Your story brought back some memories, both good and bad, of my own journey becoming a MCH.

Another thing that's worth bearing in mind is that the lower level pets give more XP as you grind your way up.
So although Gally can use a level 39 pet right now she actually uses a level 24 pet which give her more XP from the creatures she kills.
It's a bit of a balancing act between something that won't die immediately it's hit but is low enough level to give XP but those pets you've tamed won't be useless forever (but release some ofthem anyway - low level tame and train is a good XP source!)

Thanks guys. I feel better about things today. I think I was just at a low point last night. I spent several hours looking for a pet and when I found it, I couldnt tame it because it was too aggressive I guess. It was the right level but it was the first aggro pet I went after and the you cant tame that message just pushed me over the edge a little. Thanks for the advice and encouragement. I will take all I can get of both.
P.S. I now have the taming wild creature ability I was lacking when I went after those pets. So guess where I'll be tonight. Right back to the hunt and no you cant tame that message will stop me!

OK so Im a CH noob and Im kinda slow sometimes but hear me out. Here is what just occured to me and chapped me a little bit. I just spent the last couple of days looking for new pets every time I level a skill. But with it taking around a week to fully grow up, my datapad is full of pets that are pretty much useless by the time they are grown. I realize this wont be as big a problem once the xp required to get a new level gets past a certain point but that first level goes by so fast I feel dumb for even looking for new pets at those levels. Someone please tell me I will actually get to use my pets for more than a day or two at some point. Sorry for the rant but it's late and Im feeling kind of dumb at the moment.

What Foyle said is very important. Pets with CL15-20 are very important, and once you get there you should stock up. Because, in most cases they will give you the greatest xp while fighting, and they die pretty quick so its good to have a few. I got a BE'd 15 gurrcat with like 20% resists and 8K health, in addition to a few wild 15-20's, this got me through master.
I especially recommend getting a kliknik (sp?). Maybe it was just mine, but it defaulted to ranged attacks until its health was low, which was perfect for camping out in the first room of the geno caves while socializing withjedi wannabes as they crush the spawns in just a couple seconds.
Mixing about a night a week of power-leveling in the caves (for a box or two in one night), with causal play the rest the week did a few things for me:
Gave me instant gratification that night i sat in the caves and grabbed a box or two
Got me to socialize with other CH in the caves, usually a lot
But allowed me to enjoy my self and have fun the rest of the week getting maybe only a box, if that, while watching my pets grow up and explore.

Pets I've found useful while leveling.
Grand Wrix (corillia)
Kuzak (Lok)
Greater Sluge Panther (Talus)
Unfortunatly, I've come to find out that the GSPs are seemingly becoming extinct, and some are having problems finding Grand Wrix as well. All three of these are level 25 pets, so when you get to that level, I would suggest getting them, they are good pets, if you can find them.

I had a GW and GSPway back when all you need for them was 2/2/0/0 and loved them. I'll just have to wait to get new ones since I don't quite have the skill level to get them at the moment.

Hello, I've been a Master Carbineer/Master Doctor for many moons now and I was wondering if any other Pure Carbineers have the same problems I have. Is it just me or is Pure Carbineer garbage when unbuffed? I can barely tackle a faction mission and escape with my life. I feel that I have an average array of carbines and a good working knowledge of the specials. So is it just me?
