Thread: Mando Armor

As i understand vulnerability, you would be correct Wideshot. There is a chance, depending on AP and Damage of the weapon used, that if armor is vulnerable to a damage type, it could cause MORE damage than if it had a small resist. Can I explain it? No. WIll it change in the CB? Let's hope so.
Armor makes no difference if vunerable. It works like this (dumbed down for brevity):
damage = (AR vs AP function) * (resist function) * default damage if you have a resist for that type
damage = default damage if you are vunerable. No resist = vunerable.
The ARvsAP funtion is a multiplier if AP > AR,reducer if AR > AP. Resist function is always a reducer.
Thus: if AP > AR and (ARvsAP function) > 1/(resist function) the damage is greater then default. Now watch carefully
UNTIL THE RESIST FUNCTION IS 0 (vunverable). At that point damage no longer multiplies. Good for defender to be vunerable against a high AP weapon. Silly ain't it?
The mirror is just as silly if AR > AP you can see that going the reverse will get you no reducer. An AP0 weapon is halfed and then the resist hits. No resist vs 5% it looks like a difference of 55% instead. The problem is if there is no resist, and there is armor, you would think you still get the protection of the armor, but you do not... and you might as well take it off. This is why the Jawa is so effective. It shoots at you just like you did not have armor on at all. While it does have AP, it's not even calculated.
WHA?! am I reading this right? you have to be a master of EACH of those professions?! I suppose it's possible I'm misreading that, considering there is NO WAY TO BE MASTER OF ALL 4 OF THOSE PROFESSIONS.
Sorry about the caps.. just wanted to put some emphasis on that
